Could there be more than meets the eye? (i.e. secret quests?

Face it, some of us kinda went either "cool..." or "wat?" when we saw the trailer for Hearthfire. Personally, I think its a neat addon but my first thought after seeing the whole video wasn't about where to have my house or what options to buy for it. It was the Fighter's Stronghold DLC (Battlehorn Castle) for Oblivion.

In that DLC, you the player fight off invaders in return of the deed to the castle. After that, you dump loads of septims to get upgrades and trophies from a taxidermist.

Sounds cool, a tad similar to what we know about Hearthfire...or is it?

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Unwanted_Tenants Not only that but it was unmarked, so it doesn't appear in the journal.

So the question is: Do you think there is something hidden by Bethesda in Hearthfire? Such as building on top of a sacred site resulting in a chain of events? What do you think?

Interesting, the mention of "marauding kidnappers" would seem to imply the possibility of someone who lives in your home being kidnapped.

If the kidnappers are successful, perhaps it might involve a quest to rescue your spouse or housecarl? In any case, these are some interesting new gameplay features that can be helpful for people working on mods.

could be do know thay planned out the sites to build on and to think you will need people to protect it might leed to stuff.
I also think it might be that lie finding the trothies wont be as easy as one thinks by just buying it or easely making it.
same as planting stuff one will need to get the seeds I think.

Was about to say, I missed that line.

It could be possible that it will lead to a small quest to rescue the victim. Perhaps radiant at least.

The DLC is only going to be $5, so it's not unreasonable that it would only be built around one feature. I wouldn't expect much in the way of "secret quests" that aren't directly related to the content that's listed above.

For a short while it was.

Found the info, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Fighter%27s_Stronghold:
Although it was originally promoted by making it available as a free download, after two weeks it was changed to a standard, for-purchase plug-in.

Yeah, I expect some radiant quests. There might be quests to unlock the deeds and then quests to save kidnapped stewards, bards and carriage drivers.

Giants might steal our livestock too.

They might also have been completely forgetting/ignoring all the Morrowind content we got for free. And the patch content we've been getting for free with Skyrim.

I do believe so. I see this as an expansion upon Oblivion's "Fighter's Stronghold". Which did, in fact, have a few quests on the side.

They did this with the companions, so its very possible to make it so here too.

"Turn almost any follower into your personal steward"
Except for beast races, just calling it now.

I hope there are at least some secrets and surprises.

It look's good to me but personally it does look a tad "suspicious" there might be more but it is only $5 so if there is more there wont be a whole lot.

I'm curious if we can turn faction-followers into Stewards. Can I turn Dawnguard members into my Stewards?
