Couple of Xbox Pad Thingys

So hi there. I know this isn't exactly the most obvious place to come for tech support, but it's always been the best place for me to come :D

I like to game with my xbox pad connected to my PC, but I have a couple of nuisances with it and would like to know if anyone could help me.
  • Pressing the middle button causes a battery level indicator to appear. While this may be convenient sometimes, it doesn't usually show up when I'm gaming, but with the occasional game, it messes with my steam overlay pretty drastically. If anyone knows how I might acquire a working driver that doesn't cause this, or if there are any tweaks I can make the the microsoft driver, it would be dandy. I don't want to reassign my overlay button, if it's even possible.
  • Not all of my games are quite so good at complete controller support. The main issue I have is with closing the games. If it's possible to perhaps bind my middle button to the alt key, I could map the f4 key to another button on the controller via xpadder (which wont read the middle button, so that idea is out of the window unless it can be fixed), making a great way to close down those pesky games. I would rather have this in a button that will never get used in general gameplay, I want to have to press the middle button to ensure that I don't accidentally start closing games when playing.
Because the last time I asked something about my xbox pad, I got flamed to death, I don't want to have to use my keyboard and mouse in a completely different room to my TV every time I close my games and I don't want to have to buy new wireless peripherals just so I can close them. (I can't believe I have to justify myself :/)

Thanks for any help :goodjob:
