Courier Triggers?

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 11:13 pm

Does anyone know how to trigger Couriers? More specifically, how to trigger the Courier for "The Wolf Queen Awakened"? I think I found one of the triggers, but I don't feel comfortable using it. Essentially, it appears as though every time I level up that the Courier appears every time I fast travel just outside a Hold. In my case, just outside of Markath in the Markath Stables.

That sounds fine and dandy, but I have an issue. The only way for me to level up is to use the console because I've already reached the cap. I don't really feel comfortable using the console, so I was wondering if there was a different way to trigger him. Another thing - I don't have access to shouts. Although from what I've read, Couriers triggered by shouts are for different purposes.

Anyhow, I appreciate any help that comes my way. : )

i use shouts in town whirlwind sprint to not hurt others.. and after multiple times not sure on exact number, he shows up.. im 3 for 3 in my playthrough w this method in my play.. other ppl say its a trigger as well, but so far all 3 of the quests were to search for place of power, such as another shout.

The thing is, I can get him to appear, but only after using the console to level up. I'm just wondering if there's other methods. Specifically for the quest "The Wolf Queen Awakened". I'll try going to Rorikstead in any case (Haven't been there yet).

I'm not sure if that would also help give other pending letters that the Courier has queued. Is there any way to unlock Dragon Shouts with the console?

yea there is a command to get all skills in the game. best list of console commands is on gamefaqs forums. just go to gamefaqs.com then to the skyrim/pc/cheats section, you'll see it.

but here's how you get the quest..... once you completed side quest: the man who cried wolf and continue your adventuring, the next time you enter a holy city such as dawnstar or whiterun a courier runs up to you and hands you a message.

Did you already do the first quest associated with Wolf Queen Awakened?

I know. The issue here that I'm having is getting the Courier to deliver the message to continue with the quest line. I've only found one method where he will show up and that's leveling up, but being at the level cap that is not possible without using the console and I don't feel comfortable in doing so. This is why I'm trying to find another method. o.o ... : )

maybe there is a set amount of time that has to pass before entering whiterun or dawnstar again, did you try waiting a week or two? im not sure whatelse would trigger it.. the info i posted is straight out of the skyrim guide book.

I've found (over the course of seven toons now....) that the courier landing for this quest follow-on is pretty variable. On 2 toons, he was in Whiterun the next time they hit there (a couple of game days - after doing some wordwalls). On one toon, he was in Solitude after I did Noster's Helmet and trashed the Northwatch Thalmor. On one toon he didn't show up until I'd been all OVER the place, back and forth from Whiterun to Riften to Falkreath (where I got the STUPID dog quest for whichever Daedra it is, and I REFUSE to do Daedra quests other than Azura and Meridia....) - probably a couple weeks game time. The others I don't remember but they probably were "normal" - whatever that is when it's at home in this game....

I just finished that quest yesterday, and he just showed up one morning after I slept in my house in Whiterun. Have you tried waiting a few days or something? From what I remember, I didn't really do anything to trigger it.

Over 30 days have passed in-game and I've also completed several miscellaneous quests. I used the console command to give me Dragon Souls but it keeps saying that Dragon Souls are required to unlock shouts.

Okay, I figured out how to unlock the Dragon Shouts via the console. I was incorrectly clicking as opposed to pressing a key to unlock them. Anyhow, I did so, did a few shouts and then Fast Traveled to Markath Stables and there he was, a Courier. One slight problem. He was there only to give me something related to the Dragon Shouts and not "The Wolf Queen Awakened" quest.

Yes. It doesn't trigger anything unfortunately.

It's possible that the only trigger for this particular Courier is to level up... but that's a bit shortsighted in my opinion. I was messing around with the Dragon Shout Courier triggers and it seems like having at least 1 or more Dragon Souls stored and Shouting a bit in a hold (X number of times. I didn't narrow it down to how much exactly. More than one in any case.)

I'll continue playing the game and see what happens concerning that particular Courier (The Wolf Queen Awakened Courier).

Oh... I do have to say (forgot to mention before) that I've never got a courier for JUST Falk.... always doubles up with a "message from a friend" for a wordwall.

Unfortunately it doesn't double up for me. It's possible that if you meet the requirements for both the Word Wall Courier and The Wolf Queen Awakened Courier that they do double up. I just need to figure out if there are any other triggers for The Wolf Queen Awakened Courier.

Can't level up because I'm at the level cap and that's the only trigger I know at the moment. (Yeah, I'd rather find out if there's another trigger as opposed to just bypassing the issue with the console. *Shrugs*)

o.o ... The problem is not that serious as to call tech support. If forum members can't figure this one out I'll manage. o.o ... Thanks anyways.

Uh.... tech support has helped me out numerous times over the past 10 years. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to call them....
