Crashing After Asteroid, Patched

Ok strange thing is I can load up Wasteland Legends and play that just fine after the patch (albeit with minimal texture pop in and misplaced textures on walls), but the single player campaign has been crashing after the asteroid intro no matter what I do to tweak the game. What I know of my specs:

Athlon 64 (2.4 GHZ dual core) - probably not anywhere near current but it runs most other games just fine, including Riddike: Dark Athena which is OpenGL)
Radeon HD 6950
Win XP SP3
2GB Ram

My first thought was that XP was making this unplayable, but now that I can load up the multiplayer portion and run it at a decent fps I dont think it's the case anymore...any thoughts on why only the sp campaign keeps crashing? Something to do with the intro itself? I had a rageconfig file in the base folder but I moved it out of there after the patch and the game is working much better (again, only multiplayer) so I dont think it's that. Is there a way to bypass the asteroid intro? I've already got a setting in the launcher that does that with the other logo movies.

Ok, I seem to have solved the issue, definitely did not notice that the MP and SP components run with different settings.

The thing that fixed it for me was to turn OFF vsync in the game settings. I was able to play with no crashes until I got to the the end of the Ghost Hideout going back to the Wasteland. I still had texture pop in and misplaced textures, but it was at least working up to that point with a decent fps. I have my Catalyst vsync set to On, unless application specifies. So now to this crashing-on-load business haha... :banghead:
