[Petition] Create a Suggestion and complaints section

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 7:53 pm

Please create a section for suggestions and complaints. I am very frustrated reading so many complaints in the "general skyrim discussion" section. I feel that this isn't a general discussion at all. I feel most of the positive players that enjoy the game lurk over in the spoilers section because of the lack of whining and negativity.

Your kinda new at the Forum thing aren't you, not only is it nowhere near as prevalent or epidemic as some would have peeps believe but it also will subside. its called ignoring. if you feel all the "happy" people are playing Skyrim, then by all means Join them.

Just because my account is new, doesn't mean I don't notice the amount of cry cry threads outweigh the positive threads. Even if I am incorrect and exaggerating, I still fail to see this as a bad idea. Whats wrong with compiling the complaints and suggestions into one area to sort out logical fixes / additions that Bethesda / Modders may consider adding?

And it's "You're."

Lurker, account holder, whats the difference aside from my opinions not being voiced?

Petitions are against forums polity... even though that goes against freedom of speech. Whatever. Change your title before some admin stops this thread

It's pointless, just ignore them. Ever since Skyrim was announced the forums have been absolutely terrible, most have accepted that. They'll get better again after a few months.

I didn't look at your join date, nor is a join date of any importance, I said you're kinda new at the the Forum thing because that is what happens on Forums. people talk, people complain, you can easily bypass those threads or use the forum search to omit terms you don't want to come across.

While it's a good idea in theory, in reality it wouldn't work. Why? Well, no one would want to be in the complaints section and since the complainers wouldn't get any attention, they would simply re-make the complaint in the general section thus making the moderators work even harder than they are now.

Disclaimer: I am in no way saying that all complainers are whiners. Some of them have valid points and are well spoken. However, many of them are not. Those are the ones seeking attention.

Well if I get banned, or my thread deleted, so be it. I won't hold any hard feelings, that's just business. Sure, I could ignore complaint threads, but why should I have to. It's no injustice to compile these sorts of issues in a certain place. In all honestly I think complainers / non-complainers could both benefit from something like this. Suggestions breed ideas for modders. These are things Bethesda devs might also consider. So again, I fail to see this as a bad idea.

Um... if you have a complaint about a bug you've encountered in the game, that's what the Hardware and Software Issues Subforums are for. For posting your problems, there.

AS for suggestions? Well, mostly personal suggestions really aren't going to go anywhere, anyway. But they're probably better suited to being posted in the Mods forum.

I think it should be a suggestion section.

There are too many ppl here that would go into that section and complain non stop.

It's bad enough that those who complain think they are in the majority.....it would just strengthen them.

Not including the PS3 users that are SOL.....I would be pissed if my game was broke for no good reason.

Point taken. However, I feel that with a designated section, one additional moderator wouldn't be a daunting task. I feel people would sort our where their post belongs on their own, and Modders and Devs alike could spawn new ideas, and or carry ideas from this section into the game.

It's just not within the format of the forums and I don't see them ever moving on that.

Like I said, give it some time, the forums will get better. People have a right to voice their opinions and soon enough they will run out of stuff to say/move on to another game.

Freedom of Speech is a concept which applies to governments and their ability to silence you, not the right for people to control the speech on a privately owned forum.

Haha. Because it stirs up crap like this. We get it. Its a privately owned forum. I'm fine with that. I just was to see some actual Skyrim discussion. Not some more, "How Skyrim ruined MY day" crap

The poster I quoted apparently didn't get it, and I was merely addressing that common misconception. I happen to agree that the complaints/suggestions would be better served in their own forum, and voted for such.

Nay, all you will be doing is creating more work for the moderators and administrators, just learn to ignore, you know, you make the effort instead of expecting someone else to.

Complaints have lots of discussion value. Moreso than praise.

Perhaps there should be a separate section for praise / positive feedback instead. :P

Praise is by itself worthless except for the ego boost provided to the game's creators. Complaints/Suggestion would place all reflections over Skyrim's gameplay into a single section which would then play a center stage for all our conflicts of opinion.

Thats kinda stupid.

If theres something in a game that ppl love and they don't say so, how will the developers know to expand on it.

People said they loved Portal....guess what they made a Portal 2. You're welcome.

So how is that any different to complaints?

If there's something in the game lots of people are disappointed with, the complaints should be just as visible to the developers as praise. Otherwise how will they know not to make the same mistakes again?

I'm not the one that said one was less important than the other.
