Creating and packaging a mod

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:51 pm

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Is creating a mod as easy as it looks? The CK creates a file which sits in the Skyrim folder. Can I simply copy that file and package it somehow? I was looking for a step by step. I'm not adding anything non vanilla, just some buildings and maybe a script or two.

My advice? go to TESV Alliance and the official CK wiki and at least read the tutorials there. That is how most of us who are new modders learned. :)

I've been through the CK help tutorials and the CK videos. I didn't know about TESV Alliance. I'll check that out. Thanks.
Stinks being new to a package, but learning is fun. I've done a lot of levels for various games but nothing yet for Skyrim. LOL, It's why I wanted to buy it, just for the CK.
Then I got hooked in the game play.
Yesterday on my day off I spent hooking dock pieces together around buildings. I can't wait to get into the scripting. It seems to me there's a faster way of making quests then they show in the tutorials with code. Might be because I'm a coder in work. All in all the CK is impressive. I haven't seen anything this nice since Serious Sam's editor. Worldcraft was nice for its time.
