Creating an attractive female character.

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 6:59 am

Wrong game for attractive characters. Skyrim's character creation does a great job of churning out gritty, tough, scarred, and haggard warriors, however I had to fight it for a while to get myself a pretty breton girl.

Bretons have really round, bulbous heads. I had wondered why all the Forsworn looked like hydrocephalics, until the wagon man mentioned they were of Breton stock.

Here are a few tips that I've learned as general rules when face creation in Oblivion and it works in Skyrim too:

High cheekbones
Low eyebrows/thin eyebrows
High forehead
A slender jaw
A short small chin - a larger chin will do (but not so large its masculine) and porportionitly wider (but not too wide)
A slender nose but not too small
For looks you can either go for pouty lips or normal sized, but not small
Look at the face from the front and sides their should be symmetry between the jaw lines and cheeks

Take a look at beautiful models and study their facial structures and try to copy. I find the facial creation kit in Skyrim to me to be more limiting in certain ways than Oblivion, but they do have better presets, and it is much less complicated.

http://www.witchqueensia.com/gallery/d/56028-1/0003_004.jpg. Only mods used are Xenius' more detailed face textures, but they are based on the vanilla textures. Hair is one of the female Orc hairstyles.

It's possible, but just like Oblivion, it takes some work. I find that the first Nord preset is the easiest to work with, as the face shape is already, more or less, there.

I made an attractive (IMHO) male in Oblivion, but my female of the same race in Skyrim looks like an angry Romulan, so I can't help...I call her a "butterface," really. Fortunately for the people of Skyrim, her face isn't very visible. Then again, when you're the dragonborn, wear heavy armor, and wield a two-handed axe, who the hell cares what the people think?

Preset 2 female Nord, very slim, very slim face, and you're on your way ... more or less. Check my avatar? (i made some tweaks in the face and thats it)

Quite so! That's the preset I used to base my character, and I think she looks damn good.

Not sure why the other human races seem to have some sort of genetic skin problem, though. I guess Nords are just outright better after all!

Oh, [censored]. Nevermind.

Hey, my Breton female mage is a pretty hot brunette. I'm on the 360 so I can't screencap her, but just take my word for it.

Does the PC version of the game allow you to enter facial features numerically? That's a nice feature in Mass Effect--once someone figured out how to make a good-looking female Shepard (which is quite a challenge), you could just copy their numbers and use that as a baseline.

Subjective preference is subjective.

Very, very true. Egocentric statement of opinions as facts are a sign that reasoning will be wasted, though. I wouldn't bother.

Attractiveness of people seems average, overall. When it comes to complaints, I just wish I could marry a cat-man.

Just play with the options (which are so damn limited in Skyrim, like 1/3 of oblivion) untill you find something you like.

Some of the Imperial presets are nice. I used one for my female character. Tweaked the features only a little... I'm quite pleased with my character, she's not a bombshell, but I wasn't going for that.... Sorry I can't give a screencap... Not sure how with a console version... :-)

I picked an imperial because I liked the presets the most. Then I went though every slider, and looked at everty notch and asked myself "better or worse" if it was an imporvement I would go to the next slider and repeat till I was done.

Man, wich I had a better pic than this...

Using a high res normal map and a high res face texture. I used the black eyes because I wanted an evil look, she is evil btw.

Imperials are capable of looking good as well, and using warpaint is good as well, to enhance the looks of your character.

Mods, my friend, mods. For example: Mods can turn a seemingly hopelessly hideous Dunmer from http://oi40.tinypic.com/263gej7.jpg to http://oi41.tinypic.com/s6hu68.jpg

OP, if I were you I'd pick a female preset you like and then tweak it, using an image of reference to which you'd like her to be like.
You'll probably stumble upon a happy-medium between the two. Which will hopefully be a little bit attractive at the very least.

I disagree. She looks perfectly fine and young to me.

I found that the key to making a good (vanilla) dunmer is ditching the eye shadow. The under eye wrinkles aren't too bad, but putting tons of eye makeup on will really age them. Keep the eyeliner and eye tint (lower eyeliner) and you've got a perfect dunmer.

I actually used the very last preset for the dunmer. When you get rid of all the scars and readjust the eyes, you've got great bone structure. Plus, she doesn't have very prominent eyebrow ridge like the rest do. I'm on the xbox, so you'll have to take my word for it, but she was pretty enough to compensate for the under eye wrinkles.

Unmodded Breton (except for nose), using the first preset: http://s7.directupload.net/images/111202/f6mkrroi.jpg

I think its not that difficult, at least with a Breton. Just don't focus on making her attractive, but rather natural and she will look even more attractive (in my opinion). I also tried to give her some features that make her unique and different-looking from the other females in Skyrim.
