I am creating the quest (following bethesda's tutorial to the T) and having problems when adding a new script the the "bad guy" NPC.

Open the NPC, I see the Scripts section. I right click, "add script", then choose "new script". I name the script something new that relates to my quest. Under that, it says: Extends: ObjectReference .The tutorial says to click "OK" after that. When I click "OK", I get an error that says: "The Extends script does not exist, please choose one that does".

I have tried finding a solution to this for hours and hours and I am exhausted trying to figure this out. Is there anyone who can help me with this?
