Creating a skybox in an interior

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 8:58 am

Hi all,

This is my first time on this forum and also working on my very first Skyrim Mod (a player's house/home) and doing so, I stumbled upon a problem I just can't solve.

I want to create some open spaces in, let's say, the ceiling, through which the sky is visible, a skybox in other words. Can anyone please tell me how to achieve this? I've sought through the Bethesda tutorials, Googled for this technique but can't find it anywhere.
Also I've examined some existing in-game dungeons/houses via the Creation Kit but don't know what to look for  ...

Is there someone who can please show/tell me how to do this?

To be sure there is no misunderstanding, I am still in the process of creating an INTERIOR in which I want to make some open ceilings, maybe a dome through which the sky is visible.

Thanks in advance for your time and effort, I really do hope someone has an answer/solution for me!

Cant recall any specific instanced, but generally such a thing would be done with a special object that has animated clouds and will change just like the sky depending on time of day.

Im not sure where to look for it, but Im fairly sure there is such a thing.

Is this done in Skyrim? remember multiple locations in Oblivion with it.

I'm pretty sure that if you go to the settings for your cell, you can click 'Show Sky', that will obviously enable the sky for the cell, and also changes with time of day!

If it rains wouldn't that go through your house? Or would you have rain off as a weather feature?

I know the interior of Froki's Shack in Skyrim has this. You can see trees and sunlight. That's the only one I can recall off the top of my head.
