Creation Kit: Neck Seam Gap

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:21 am

Hi, I am wondering on this problem for a while. I have no mods at all...but I thought of altering some NPCs appearances in the game (all marriage and follower candidates. I also atlered their weight. When I load my game, I find many NPCs neck seams have a gap. Of course I know several solutions to this... Which is to setnpcweight and start a new game. These removed the neck seam gap. However, is there another solution? If not, I want to revert all my characters in the creation kit with their orignal weight without having to start all over again.

If you change the weight of an actor in the CK after you have met them in game, you have to do a setnpcweight on them to fix the air gap, because they are recorded in the save game with the original weight. Also, you need to export their facegen data from the CK because altering the weight also changes their head mesh a bit around the neck, and the facetint texture no longer 'fits'.

Yeah I am making a mod, intended for other people to use, don't want to have people to go through that... because of the hassle to do that by settng npc weight through console. What do you mean by exporting facegen data? Please elaborate, you mean ctrl+f4? Because I did that method to avoid the grey head bug. This does not give me the solution to solving the weight issue. Sadly the only solution to do this is by setnpcweight or starting a new game.
