Creation Kit render window does not load

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 3:12 pm

Hello, I am trying to learn how to use the creation kit, but my render window does not load, so I can't preview anything I want to work on.

I do have an ENB installed (Project ENB) and when I load up CK, the ENB's loading text appears in the render window. After that, I see nothing more in it. Just grey.

I downloaded this thing - ENB Disable for Creation Kit, from skyrim nexus, but I don't think I installed it correctly. I put its files (not the source folder) into the same folder as the CK executable, as per the directions on the site, but it had absolutely no effect.

Again, I'm a beginner, so it's probably something really obvious that I'm missing. I would appreciate your help so much!

Thanks!

I'll draw you to this in your first post

"when I load up CK, the ENB's loading text appears in the render window. After that, I see nothing more in it. Just grey."

I may be mis-interpreting this, but once the ck has loaded and you have either loaded your plug-in or loaded Skyrim.esm, are you actually loading anything from the Cell View window. The render window is grey until you load a cell.

If you are right clicking on an item in the object window, some objects do not preview, and any objects which do, bring up their own Preview Object window.

Now if you are doing all this, is it possible to completely disable your ENB to test whether this is interfering with the CK.

Are you actually launching the ENB Disable file?

If you are using ENB simply rename the d3dx9.dll to d3dx9A.dll and when you have finished with the CK simply rename it back.
