Creepy weird clothesless glitch

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 7:42 am

This is by far the creepiest glitch I've ever experienced in a game. Actually, it's the creepiest experience I've had in a game. I adopted the orphan boy wandering around Dawnstar, sent him home, and bought a ton of stuff to give him to make him feel welcome. I got him a wooden sword, made him an apple dumpling, and bought him a new tunic. When I gave him all of these things, he was pleased. He equipped the sword, I assume he held onto the dumpling for later, and he did nothing with the clothes. I told him to go to bed, went to sleep for 8 hours, then woke up. As I walked downstairs to the main dining table, I found my newly adopted orphan son sitting at the dining table... with no clothes on. I told him to go play outside, hoping that traveling to a different cell would make him equip some clothes; didn't work. Told him to go inside again, and still he remained clothesless.

Did I mention my PC is a bachelor? So now I'm a single guy hanging around a house with a nekkid kid. Not cool, and definitely not what I was planning on RPing with this char. I REALLY hope a patch comes out for this one.

Details: Falkreath home, entry hall, main hall, west wing is greenhouse, north wing is alchemy tower, east wing is kitchen, cellar is built, and most of the furnishings have been bought. I do have a steward, Jayya, or whatever the Redguard from Falkreath's name is.

Xbox 360 Slim, Lg HDD (not sure what the GB count is), game is still installed to HDD. Not sure what the save file size is.

Oh, that's frightening. I'm going to close my eyes, go "lalalaa", and pretend there's some sort of freak magical heat wave hitting Skyrim that doesn't melt snow, and only the kids are unashamed enough to strip down to their skivvies. Actually, I did adopt a girl from Whiterun who has thankfully stayed decent.

You're really have all of the kids in your game turning up maked? That's unfortunate!

I wanted to adopt a child but I don't want to have a permanently naked one. There better be a patch.

Interesting. I knew the second add-on content would have had an experience-breaking bug.

All I can say, if Bethesda does not fix this bug immediately, they will need to pull the DLC offline until they do. If the ESRB or press gets wind of something like this, there will be hell to pay.

Hopefully that's not the case, especially since the kids aren't actually naked, they're just wearing underwear. For players of the game, it's contextually creepy since it's as close to "naked" as a player or NPC can get in the game, but in actuality, they are not naked, or even "partially naked". Granted, I have no idea what the female child models look liked with this glitch, and while I'm not going to rush out to verify this,I'm guessing they probably share a similar model to the advlt female when no clothing is equiped. Which basically makes it looks like the kids are prepped and ready for a sunny day at the beach or pool. This shouldn't become a repeat of the situation with Oblivion, especially since Skyrim is already rated "M" (in the States, anyway).

Alll that said, I do hope a patch will fix this asap. Because now my character is a bachelor living with 2 kids, one of them naked, and the other apparently prone to following suit, if the glitch isn't restrained to just 1 kid at a time. All I know is that I am NOT giving my adopted daughter a new dress; the one she has on now will do just fine.

The girl kids are pretty much the same model as the boys, just maybe a bit skinnier and with a cloth piece on their chest. This is a very annoying glitch. Hearthfire seems to be Bethesda's most bugged dlc ever.

Hmm, not experiencing the glitch anymore. I got my son a new tunic, which he equipped right away. My daughter equipped a new dress with no issues, and no other kids in my game are nekkid. What model 360 are y'all using?

PC users who installed "custom body" mods are in for a nasty surprise if this bug isn't fixed in time for the PC release

It's quite possible that giving multiple gifts at once is causing this. Go buy your kids one outfit and give it to them.

Done and done, see below. Good call on giving multiple presents at a time; that's what I did when he suddenly decided to strip down to his skivvies. When I gave him a second outfit, it was the only thing I gave him at that time, and he put the outfit on.

That should do it. If you run into this issue, just gift them another set of clothing and the issue should be resolved.

So your kid doesn't want to wear the clothes you bought them. How does that break the experience? Maybe you're just not the cool parent you thought you were.

It doesn't. What breaks the experience is the kid taking their clothes off and running around "naked". Did you, by chance, read the entire OP? Or did I miss some extremely dry sacasm?

No, it shouldn't be any different for PC users unless they are using different models/textures for the children. The common body mods are for the advlt models only. Besides, there will no doubt be a patch/mod on PC to fix the issue from happening at all.

if u give your child the same color of clothes they are already wearing
the clothes go invisible.. just give him or her a different color outfit

thats where the stuff u give them goes to

ps
thats where i go to give them gifts
take it from their chests and regift

I never gave multiple gifts, and the naked problem only occurred on the first gift of clothes, later offering a different outfit solved the problem. I can now offer any outfit and it is worn.

on my PC version - ALL the kids in Skyrim, boy and girls are down to their skivvies as soon as I installed HearthFire. I adopted one of these half-naked urchins thinking if I gave her some clothes she would put them on. No go. She is either in her underwear or ... her body completely disappears!!! Very nasty bug indeed!!!
I have no mods that change textures installed whatsoever ... and the kids were all in their undies immediately after installing the dlc.
