Crossfire FLICKERING FIX! FOUND! (Real fix)

Post » Tue Jun 01, 2010 9:50 am

I stumbled upon this and thought I'd share it and I think it'll make MANY of you happy.

Just had to post this.

All you have to do is when you get to the menu screen,

Go to Graphics Options and go to Brightness.

Set the brightness to any other value and click apply.

Then go back and set it back to what it was before and click apply.

Done. :)

Flickering gone.

Perhaps this also finds the error for the devs, having both cards render at a different brightness setting for some reason.

Hopefully this helps everyone, or you. I've got a 100% success rate with this so far. Not intermittent.

Do it each time you launch the game.

Running with 11.2 drivers with CAP4 too! :)

B.

P.S. It's the unpatched version of Crysis but if you have the patched version, try it out and if it works you can just post here to let those who read this thread know!

P.P.S. Just found out too after Alt+Tabbing back into the game that you have to set this again each time you minimize and restore Crysis. But it's quick!

tried this but only reduces the flicker from the menu screen. once ingame, any source of lightning (like daylight or a lamp) still flickers enormously. it did reduce it a tiny bit, but not to a level where it's playable.

thx for sharing anyhow..

Tried this too, it helps a lot with light flickering, but still big refreshing problems like horizontal black lines going down the screen :/

It won't fix flickering with patch 1.1 in Crysis. It's just fixes ati crap drivers bug. From 10.12 drivers - all 3d applications don't use colour settings that you apply in CCC (in page where you set gamma\brightness\contrast), and some times CCC settings start to conflict with game brightness settings that causes flickering (2 variants - colours setting not applying or flickering because of conflict). You'll have this bug if you'll minimize game, but it's just one of 2 bugs that causes flickering and that's not crysis issue its ati drivers glitch and it also appears only with multigpu. So you solve just 1 of 2 problems)

Best way to fix flickering with multigpu in crysis - is renaming Crysis2.exe to bioshock.exe or using radeonpro to switch bioshock profile.

This combined with renaming crysis2.exe to bioshock.exe seems to fix both flickering problems i had.
