Crossfire Issues

Post » Wed Jan 12, 2011 10:39 am

Hey guys, I have been having this problem when I am in crossfire with my two 5870s. What happens is that when I am indoors, well even outdoors it happens sometimes as well, but basically when I am indoors and i move to certain spots in a room or near a wall i get this graphical/visual problem where I get very bad screen tearing despite having vertical sync enabled from the game options and I even tried forcing it on in CCC. As I play the game it will steadily gets worse as well as the stuttering until the eye strain becomes to much, and I have to turn one card off. I know I could just play the game with one gpu, but I really want to be able to use both cards. I have the latest drivers, directx, and ati profiles. Does anyone else have this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try the Catalyst 10.10e hotfix with the latest Crossfire Game Profile

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/gpu88-catalyst-10-10e-hotfix.aspx - 10.10e

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/crossfirex-app-profiles.aspx - Crossfire Game Profile 10.11

10.10e offers a few tweaks and options not yet found in the official 10.11 Catalyst.

When Catalyst 10.12 is released, the features of 10.10e will be present.

I use this combo with no issues in FalloutNV, or anything else for that matter.

I have a 5970 Crossfire setup.

Such as?

I thought all new releases contained the same things the old drivers did, plus the new stuff. I'm curious why they wouldn't do that.

10.10e contains specific options for the 5000 series, and the 6000 series, that are still missing from the 10.11 release. The 10.11 release also does not yet support the 6000 series cards.

The new AA mode, an option to force a normal voltage setting when using crossfire, instead of having it fall back to a lower voltage setting (this increases stability for some crossfire setups), and some other game optimizations.

Hmmm, well I will try some of those options to see if that resolves my issues. This game has been a nightmare to try and play since it stutters an ungodly amount, along with crashing, plus cowboy repeater bug, and so on and so on. Plus the latest patch fixed some things but made other things worse. lol.
