At least when fail ops was released you were able to play on servers and it recorded your experience from kills/challenges/etc.
So this is definitely a phail

How is it a fail? The singleplayer is amazing, the graphics are superb. There is exactly one problem I have in singleplayer which is that Melee sometimes does not work, other than that...

Multiplayer does not work currently, but give them a break. When did a PC multiplayer game release without problems in the last few years. Don't buy at launch day if you have a problem with that.

Then don't buy it at launch day, as simple as that. And don't tell me you did not see this coming because all of what you are complaining about was known ahead of time or could have been known if one would have been smart. Even the multiplayer problems are somewhat known since the demo. Buy at launch day: live with some bugs and hiccoughs.

They should fix a product before they sell it thats how I see it, we aren't paying for some broken products !

DX11 is not magically gonna make your game look better. Making games look amazing is rocket science and utilizing tesselation (which is probably what you're after) is non trivial. The amazing thing here is that crytek apparently managed it to keep the game looking this nice without using any of the DX10 and DX11 features which is something that amazes the developer in me.

Yes they should. But buying buggy games at launch day and then complaining is not gonna make the situation better. That's not how to teach developers a lesson.

So you are saying that complaining wont help ? that's just stupid.

" yeah we just sold 1 million copies, and no complaints so far. the game wont be needing fixes "

Suggesting not to buy a game at release because there might be issues is somewhat of a hollow idea. I bought Crysis 2 for two reasons:

I really wanted to play Crysis.

I wanted to have the extra gear/skins and what not, which to the best of my knowledge you only get with this limited package (till the 26th of March I believe).

I dont much care about the extra 5 lvls or xp bonus, but what I'm getting at is that I should be able to expect my bonus code key to work and shower me with super limited bonus material, when I type it in. That there are multiplayer connectivity issues or whatever, I can live with, they will be solved. I just dont wanna start lvling my guy (im lvl 9 now by the way) and then get my bonus content, antiboosting me to lvl 5 again and erasing my stats.

Yes of course, every PC gamer knows there will always be some minor bugs and tweaks to be worked out at the initial launch of a game. However they are rarely this immense and crippling. Also, nobody knew that the game wasn't going to support DX11, or even DX10 for that matter. Not even Nvidia knew! They yanked Crysis 2 off their DX11 list on launch day, they were just as suprised as us! Haha, which really makes me laugh... and cry.

Anyway, back to the OP's original topic:
Even though this is a HUGE fail... I wouldn't exactly call it a bigger fail than Black Ops. Namely because, well... it isn't Black Ops. Despite its massive bugs and lack of DX11/10, I'm still having a blast playing the campaign, which in my opinion is 10x better than any COD game. And even though the graphics are nowhere near where they should be (for PC) it still looks great and is easily the best looking DX9 game on the planet. Which is cool in its own way... just not if your a PC gamer in the year 2011.

And as far as them getting it fixed faster than Black Ops did... I have my doubts. This has definitely damaged my support and respect of Crytek. I will have a much harder time believing anything they say in the future, which truly saddens me. I thought Crytek was one of the last bastions of PC gaming in which I could put my trust... it seems I was wrong.

Probably you've missed 47 pages of comments and requests for help (all in 3 days).
To play COD I do not recall having to disable a graphics card or having to make changes to files. I could play both single and multi player.
I do not remember that I had that I spent two days (with the advice of users) to try to solve the problems to try them out.
And at this moment there is still only single player, finished with smart time , I've just taken away the hunger, but I still hungry :)

Remember though that seems to me Battlefield 2142 all the same problems in beta in the game are sold.

So , Crysis2 it seems much more beautiful but atm COD BO wins by TKO in the first round.

Which is the exact reason why I would have frozen time in 1997. Complete games, zero patches. Companies today are too lax in their attitude to provide a service which is shipping a game that is complete, not shipping a game that's half finished then doing the rest later.

That's like supermarkets keeping half your shopping telling you they will deliver it to you instead.

OK grant it your point about buying on launch is a valid point, but what about all the people who pre-ordered the PC version based on reputation of the first Crysis and what was promised with Crysis 2. A lot of people heard through the graqevine that DX 11 was not going to be implemented when launched, what about the one's that did not know about that. Why no official announcement from Crytek or EA?? Because they were both aware how many people cancelled there pre-orders when the demo hit, if they officially announced key features would not be implemented, there goes some more pre-orders. Crytek and EA knew this was not ready to be released on the PC, but wanted to sell as many copies of Crysis 2 based on the reputation of the first game. It's a shame that on launch day, when it too late to cancel your pre-order because it has already shipped, that Nvidia take's Crysis 2 off the DX 11 game list and Cryengine 3 does not support DX 11.

Crytek was quick to announce that their game was pirated, but no announcements about features missing or not ready. Sounds like they stayed quiet in order to sell this game. IMO I think Crytek was better off just delaying. There are too many publishers doing this now a days. Release a game that is not finished, patch it later to get it to work properly, add features that were promised in the beginning, later after the game has been out. This is all too common today. If people keep saying "what do you expect on launch day, it is normal" what do you think the gaming companies are going to do? That's right, release it because most of people the will accept problems at launch. Let's take their $60.00 now, we will fix it later!! Unacceptable!

Unfortunately Crytek in the end will suffer..... I for one will not buy another Crytek game based on pre-launch hype. I will wait for the game to be out for a while, about 6-12 months when the game hits $30.00. Lesson Learned!
