I have used a controller on the PC versions of Crysis and hated it, the layout is all wrong. (G13 Joystick and Mouse FTW) I really hope we get something like the Battlefield BC controls (at least it's an EA Game) or allow us to choose, like what CoD does.

I like the idea of having more layouts.

Like for instance, Crysis will have their own recommended amount of control pre-sets available. And their will be others pre-sets from other popular series like BC2 and CoD.

But I have a feeling that the buttons will be different on here. It's their first game on consoles, so I can assume they'll take in button pre-sets from other games.

I wish they gave you preset controls and a slot for a custom control scheme.

hopefully on the ps3 they allow you to pick what each button on the controller does.
on the pc i used a program to asign each action to a button with the first crysis game and it worked really well

something like this for 360 would be my best guess
RT: shoot
LT: aim
RB: grenade
LB: change suit mode (hold for radial menu)
A: jump
B: crouch
X: reload
Y:?
L3: click to sprint
R3: click for melee
D-pad: different vision modes

I know for a fact there will be COD or Halo Reach presets.
You want to be as accessible to the public as you can.

Gamers should be able to manually map the controls to their linking on the controller.Also playstation move support should be optional for those buying one because once those gamers use it with PS3 won't ever want to go back to the dualshock 3 for fps games ever again that's a guarantee.

I hope the consoles get the ability to map the controls to their liking if the presets dont satisfy them.

Yea this is what I like too. Just make Y change weapons.
And maybe use the d-pad for different suit modes.

I know it's overused and copied ad nauseam... but I prefer the default CoD:MW layout myself. Hey, if it isn't broken... don't fix it!

@ Uday23...
That is a similar setup to what I would like to have on PS3:

R1 = Primary fire
R2 = Secondary fire (grenades, etc.)
R3 = Crouch
L1 = Aim down the sights
L2 = Suit modes (quick press - change suit modes. hold - enter radial menu)
L3 = Sprint
X = Jump
Triangle = Binoculars
Square = Reload
Circle = Melee attack / Action
D-pad = Select weapons, etc.
Select / Start = Mission map, objectives, game menu, etc.

Basically just a swop on the shoulder buttons. As much as I like the PS3 controller, I have to admit that the triggers for me is not as nice as the X360 controller's. Therefore I don't like having primary fire on the triggers.
I also like to hold the button for aiming down the sights and toggle for crouching.

Thanks for the feedback, guys, seems like most share the idea of fully customizable controls. hope Crytek will consider this :P

completely customizable is the only way to go. second choice would be the bumper jumper setting from halo 3 which is pretty much the controls of halo reach i hear.

it would be nice for the buttons to be like cod cause i like the way it is setup.
but i mostly would like to see all different controls like legacy and all the others.

the most thing that pisses me off is these so called company spend millons of dollars on games and they only put one controls out WTF IS THAT ABOUT. its like saying lets make a millon dollar game but we will only sell it to little kids that cant really pay for it. but really what i mean is if you want the game to be the best add all controls then you will not be limiting to who you sell it to. cause i know people that will only play games with legacy controls. make this game the best.

in most games on playstation 3 the preset controls with the dualshock 3 use the left anolog stick for moving around & the right anolog stick for aiming & looking around.
