Crysis 2 PC > Crysis 2 consoles

Post » Sat Jun 26, 2010 12:46 am

Yeah , for all the cock svckers who said Crysis 2 pc will be a console port , here you go:

http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,768604/Crysis-2-Everything-about-DirectX-11-3D-without-perfomance-drop-and-8-core-optimization/News/

Yup , DX11, high res textures, 8-core optimization, so ya it will look better and run better than Crysis 1.
And 3d without any performance drop(on consoles too) and you wont need a 3d monitor , I like the sound of that.
Now I need to get myself some 3d glasses from somewhere XD

From article: "stereoscopic 3D might be possible on any display"

This made my day. Haven't read up too much on 3d tech so this is news to me. Hype meter goin crazy!

And then this: "Cryengine 3 would render nearly twice as many fps as the CE2 at comparable graphics quality."

:) !! Good post thx

No duh you must be retarded not to think that the PC version won't be the best.
But most people don't care how many pixels are on the screen, most people care if it looks good(which it does on consoles no matter what you say{it looks way better on PC though} and if it is fun.

The only thing that you're proving here is that you're having insecurities that the PC version will be worse than consoles which it won't.

Stop being a fanbou.

PC > Console on ANYTHING. Even if it's a console port. Which Crysis 2 is not.

Maybe because it IS a console port on the gameplay side of things. I don't give a **** about all the damn pc features if I'm playing 6on6... That's just dang redicilous. Now me and a couple buddies can fill up a whole server.... :(

Look the PC version will be the best graphically.

But that depends on your rig. My rig is average or good. But I would rather play this on my Xbox or PS3 because I know for a fact it will run better on those compared to my PC. Also the Game Controller for both are something I like over my Keyboard and Mouse setup. Still getting used to playing FPS games with my PC.

@sonyguy
really, learn to research, a pc of 2007 was far more powerful than the ps3, this is 2010, go figure. numnuts.

Interesting to read a little about the pc side of things, tbh i'll be far happier about crysis 2 when i see some more pc footage/info.

PC vs Console it's like mac vs pc. The OS of Macs and Consoles are better and optmized for their functions, so if you have the same hardware they will be better. But PC's are not only faster, but upgradable, and able to MOD.
If you compare prices, Consoles maybe cheaper. But Pcs can do much more things than only playing, and if you want a joystick you can buy one, if you wanna a keyboard and mouse, you can use it also. and if Your PC get old you don't need to buy a new one, you can be slowly upgrading it during the years.

@Thatsonyguy You can't try to compare old hardware to new ones, even my old pc (9800gt+phenomIIx4 3.0ghz + 4gb ddr2) it's at least equal to the ps3

well, i'd say it's more like ps3 vs. ps2 to be honest. The pc has far better multimedia capabilities and is superior in every way. The ps2 is great, ofc, and is cheaper, but the ps3 is definitely better, just like the pc is definitely better as an overall machine (and gaming too).

Btw, daniel, that PC was around twice the power of the ps3 in both cpu and gpu departments. Anyone debating the ps3 processing power being very good, just press the home button in game, you see that time it takes to load things? steam is instant on average pc's. Same as the xbox live menus on xbox compared to gfwl.

Still, it'll be nice to see the pc version of crysis 2, i admit i've been pretty harsh towards crytek, and it's been due to my frustration at not being able to see what my game will look like. Ps3 fans won't get much more than the xbox, so they have no worry, but for me as a pc gamer, the difference should be very stark and until that point i just can't stop myself worrying it'll be a blatant console port. Even if it's not at all (i love the cryengine 3 design tools - if they make their way into the mainstream as a replacement for ue3 i'll be very happy indeed - the pc platform will get the graphics it deserves).

Well, very few games ever reach 1080p on console, there's probably about 4-5. Gran turismo 5 can be 1080p because driving games aren't that demanding ^^ but even so, it can't handle AA at that resolution, the 720p version does get some AA.

Something i recently realised that was that EVERY call of duty game is only 1024x640 with 2xAA on consoles! How lousy is that! That resolution on pc would make me barf!

@CorruptSoul Gran turismo 5 runs at native 1080p at 60fps during gameplay caught up with all the pd interviews & maybe you would be up to date like the rest of us gt fans that follow news on gt5.

Also MLAA (cell processor based AA) achieves 2 to 4x better AA then 16x MSAA just so you people know.

Really? cool, because crysis 2 has that in the pc version as an option! But who cares since SSAA is so ridiculously superior to both?

Sony, learn to research, the ps is nowhere near a gaming pc, to think otherwise is plain retarded. The ps3 will run crysis 2 at 1280x720 @30fps and will be pushed as far as it can go. Meaning it will look marginally better than the xbox but miles behind the pc version.

The best looking games on consoles, which are all ps3, are all still miles behind crysis 1 and warhead. In fact most of them are behind bad company 2 on the pc XD

PC > consoles for graphics and all media. Name something you can do on ps3, i can DEFINITELY be done one pc :) ps3's can't even run youtube videos through the browser without pixellating ^^ (or have they fixed that in the last week?)
