» Tue Sep 28, 2010 5:21 pm I just finished the Crysis 2 campaign and therefore I just want to give some feedback what I liked and what I didn't like very much.
First of all I have to say that overall this game is just awesome. Especially when you played Crysis 1 (and Warhead) the whole story around the Ceph and Prophet (OH YEAH!) seems more epic than ever.
good:
+ Presentation: The presentation was just awesome. Great atmosphere, great moments.
+ Voice acting: Very good english voice acting. Better than the german one.
+ Story: Despite of what many other say about the story, I like the story and how the Nanosuit is related to the Ceph.
+ Performance: The performance of Crysis 2 is in my opinion better than Crysis 1. The look is different, yes, but but nonetheless my old Athlon X2 6400+ could handle Crysis 2 not bad. I had to go down to just "High" graphics but even with just high settings the game looks great.
+ Nanosuit 2.0: I like the Nanosuit in Crysis 2 more than in Crysis 1. It's much more comfortable to switch between cloak or armor mode. But I don't know whether I should like the fact that you can't switch to speed or strength mode. These two modes are like part of the other modes.
not so good:
- AI: Well the AI wasn't bad at all. But it could be a bit better. Sometimes the enemy was stuck in something or ran into the wall like there was none and couldn't get out -> easy kill.
- Spawning enemies: This is what I hate most of this game. I get to a safe position, mark my enemies, kill them with the Sniper Rifle and think they're all gone. After few moments suddenly new enemies appear. Why? I'm a very cautious player. I hide very often and 90% of the time I'm in cloak mode. But afterI killed all enemies they don't have to respawn. Especially in the level where I had to kill Lockhart, there were like endless enemies!
- A bit long: I needed about 8 hours to complete the campaign. I my opinion it was a bit too long. It was great but sometimes I was cheesed off. Maybe it's because there there so many enemies (-> respawning enemies)
- No free Savepoints
- Lag: I felt a lag in the controls. Like I was playing with a gamepad.
- Where the hell is Psycho? Psycho is a pretty cool character. Warhead is just about him. So why didn't he show up in Crysis 2??? Psycho was in the same Squad with Nomad and Prophet... oh yeah.. where the hell is Nomad???
- Annoying bugs: There are some bugs which were kind of stupid. Sometimes the whole weapon disappeared so I had to switch weapons; sometimes I couldn't do the melee attack.
- No Endboss? The end surprised me. No end fight with a huge boss like in crysis 1? A Crysis game without an epic end boss? This was really disappointing
neutral:
*Graphics: The graphics ain't bad at all. This game looks very good. But It really seems that the PC version of Crysis 2 was just ported from the consoles to the PC, although Crysis 1 was a PC exclusive title. Crysis 2 could look much better than it does now. It's awesome, but not epic
Haven't played multiplayer yet. Can't say anything about that.
UPDATE: The Multiplayer is quite a fun. Really like the different gametypes.
I listed more negative points than positive, but most of them are just peanuts. The lag and the endless enemies are too big things which bothered me. And I missed the Endboss. But overall the Game is great.
So please Crytek: MAKE CRYSIS 3 !!! I want to know whether we will destroy the Ceph or not!
