Crysis 2 Love thread

Post » Thu Jun 16, 2011 3:48 pm

So I've been playing the game and I'm loving it, amazing looking graphics, fantastic soundtrack, a cool story and a fairly fun MP mode, honestly I'm even liking it more than Crysis 1/Warhead.

Am I the only one that feels that way? Also, I can't wait for the DX11 enhancements, I'm sure it'll look even better.

Lots of people love it. It's just that the haters are more vocal.

Crysis 2 is an all round good game, much better than the likes of COD.

It has a few quirks here and there and some things missing that I would like to see but not as bad as the cry babies try and make out.

There's a lot of worse games out there both bugs and gameplay wise, just people blow it all out of proportion.

the lovers are too indulged in MP to even bother to come here...

the haters are those who can't be bothered to adapt to MP bugs/problems... and spend most of their time in the forums writing hate posts

If this game svcked, nobody would care about it. People wouldn't be in these forums complaining every single day if they didn't want to play the game.

The maps are brilliant. The powers are cool. The art design and sound design are awesome.

At the same time, this game has problems, and all we're getting are overpriced map packs.

despite the problems... me and several other players have no problems enjoying ourselves and racking up frags in the servers....

priced map packs and dlc is fine.. i believe eventually this will end up the future of the game market economy, although it isnt good for us, but its fairly legal and valid for a game company to charge for additional content

major problems that ruin the game totally would be the rank resets, assessment resets... these are hard earned achievements for players...

i have to disagree, map packs are stupid, they shorten the life span of games alot

Look at games like Counter strike, or Killing floor, they have been out for ages and still have more people playing them then games like crysis 2, because you can make you're own maps and mod so the game doesnt get boring

Paying £10 for 4 maps is stupid when with the tools i could make more maps then that in a day

Well, what to do...
For the amount of work they put in the modern games with all the great graphics and realism... the monetary return for them is small.

If you like a developer for its good work, support them. They don't earn as much as we think

People don't like things, you have to get over that stop calling people haters for not liking something since not all the people who liked Crysis 1 will like Crysis 2. I mainly don't like it because of the terrible state it came out in but it has it's good points.

If i don't like a game, I don't sit on the forums for three months and bich and moan about every little thing. I move on to something I enjoy. What an interesting concept.

Well if the editor is any good or like the Unreal Editor 3 then it should be easy enough to crank out maps.

Just finished the game - C2 plays fine once you get used to the suit controls and different weapons. Sometimes a bit repetitive due to no god-mode but overall a good storyline with great graphics. Stress factor is quite high!

I find it difficult to love Crysis 2 more than minecraft...I guess it's because minecraft has slightly bigger maps...

Cranking out a half-way decent, well balance, arted-up map is not done in a day. Not in Unreal. Not in Hammer. And not in this.

Usually generating a decent map in an FPS takes 40-80 hours of design time and then another 20-40 hours of art time. Obviously, it will vary from game to game, but that's been my experience. That doesn't even account for playtesting...

--More on topic... I love the hell out of C2 so far, but I admit that I am in the camp that is holding off on finishing the campaign until dx11 drops.

Please. If you have a team of at least 4 people you can crack out a high quality map in a day at most. Especially since sandbox and the SDK allow for instantly jumping into the map to look at it.

Well I enjoyed c2 alot up until this most recent 'payforthebestgun' policy. Sure the little things annoyed me, (laserlag, lack of players, a few hackers, no bink on a lasersighted scar) but I got pretty damn far into the game (hitting top 150 in kills on the leaderboard, never rebooted because its stupid, going through and doing all the weapon assessments (didnt finish them, but got more than half way)).

Paying for guns pisses me off, especially since ive already sunk $100 into a game that i haven't recieved everything promised from (namely sandbox, and after 3 months a bug like orbital strikes toasting servers should be gone, hell even dx11, which i dont really care about, but hell i payed for it, still haven't got it), im hardly going to spend an extra $10 for something that i can only use 1/10 of (namely a gun that **** on most other weapons, because not enough people will get it to play on the new maps).

Was happy, now unhappy. As for people who do like c2 and don't spam the forums? Well they don't spam it because they don't think theres anything wrong. Unhappy people spam it, because they think there is something wrong, and want to tell the guys doing the wrong thing that its wrong.

Get over yourself. Some of us bought this game expecting it to work! Some of us bought expecting DX11 support! I could look past the graphics if I could PLAY the game! Since day 1 I had problems with certain codes working, it flickers in SLI, lose my aiming dot, sound bugs, A.I. bugs, than flickering and random texture loss with a totally white gun. I cannot play this game since the day I bought it. With every update they screw something else up. I payed $50 and I expected to at least PLAY the campaign and I cannot. I shouldn't have to blind myself with flickering to TRY and enjoy it. PLus the lack of communication from Crytek is ABSURD!!

Don't give me your crap with "haters gon hate" the game is BROKEN. Bahhhhhhh, does anybody hear a sheep? EA loves people like you!

This post reads my mind :P Many people love Crysis 2 but lovers don't have a reason to post threads about it! Haters post threads about bugs, whinnying and stuff, but there is no use for lovers to post threads saying "Crysis 2 is awesome"! So that is why it seems that there are more haters...

Counter strike is played because lots of people still have old crappy PCs from 2003. Theyre too cheap to buy modern PC and to buy Modern FPS and play it. Counter strike is also played because its free. All friends that i know still play CS because theyre PCs are pure **** and they cant even use Windows 7.
