Crysis 2 Max Settings/Resolution

Post » Mon Aug 16, 2010 9:03 pm

I was wondering if Crysis 2 would be able to run on max settings and resolution with little to no lag on these system specs:

Intel Core i3-540 Processor
ASUS P7H55 Motherboard
NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 1GB Video Card-DirectX 11 Support
PSI CyborgX gaming Case+450W Power Supply
Liquid CPU Cooling System with 120mm Radiator
High Definition Surround 3D Premium Sound
NVIDIA 3D Vision Glasses and Monitor
4GB Memory
Please let me know,Thanks

Upgrade the graphics card and you'll be fine. Maybe a 5770 or a overclocked version of the GTS450.

If money isn't a problem.

Try using a Core i7 series and save up for a Gtx 5xx series gpu. Everything else is fine. :)

The processor in most cases isnt the problem. Its more up to the grfxcard u use.
So because of the lack of info.. no one can clearly say what is needed to max C2 out.
Maybe people will be able to max it out even with a GTX 260 who knows? ( if it isnt Dx11 exclusive )

I'd look into getting something like a GTX460 if i was you :) I't's a very nice graphics card,

Also I would look into getting a slightly better CPU, for bang for buck I'd say look at getting the i5 760 :)

depending on your monitor resolution you may not be able to run it on max settings without tons of lag, plus you won't be able to use your 3D set with crysis on max settings either. If i were you i would recomend upgrading your GPU to about maybe a GTX 460 or 470, or wait for more GTX 5xx series to release. Also upgrade your PSU cause 450 is not enough for a stable performance, try going for a power supply that is capable of at least 20% more power than what your system uses.

True, but, that still depends on your budget.

No-one should be buying anything other than a dx11 card now :) so hd5670>hd5750>gtx460 768MB > gtx460 1GB is generally the order of the cards which you buy based on your budget.

Also, the OP could possible go for an i5, but won't need one.

an i7 probably won't be compatible with their socket, and no-one should be buying an i7 for gaming, they cost too much and do too little. Buy a phenom II X6 1055T for £100 less, overclock it to 4GHz (although it's not necessary) and laugh in a year when games use more than 4 threads (e.g. games like battlefield 3) threads and the i7's are smashed by your far cheaper processor :)

I agree with what everyone else said, definitely better GPU, could probably do with a better CPU. but don't get a hexacore yet...and liquid cooling is just completely unnecessary, i5s OC on air really well already.

Ya but the technology behind the six cores will offer you a much better performance experience even if the game doesn't support 6 cores because on intel and AMD processors the unused cores will be disabled and the used cores will be overclocked or something like that. But it does offer better performance.

Correct, but that may change in the coming years. :)

Investing in the i7 1366 socket guarantees you the support of the i9 6 cores that will be coming out in the coming year or two, so buying an i7 950 now and getting an i9 later is rather ideal instead of those usual one and done AMD motherboards, the 1090T is most likely the last of that socket for AMD. ;)

The idea of an i9 core would still take a matter of two years to be available to the public, and the i7 will be around the release of Crysis 2. So, the idea of getting an i7 now, doesn't sound so bad these days.
