Crysis 2 Multiplayer Exp Ranking up system just like bfbc2 o

when i first played crysis 1 i hated its multiplayer.
when u play instant action u just spawn somewhere and u have to take the weapon u find.
you never know what weapon there will be at your spawnpoint.
it would have been so much better if yu could have just spawned with the weapon your best with.
of course you shouldnt be able to spawn with the gaussrifle.
on instant action they had a exp system.
but that one svcked.
all u get is a victory melody and a voice saying some words at the end of a match.
the next match everything is back at zero.
so why even keep playing if you know everythin will be gone at the end of the match.
yeah of course its for the fun but dont u wanna earn something that shows how much you played and how good you are
and when you join in late all the other players had the good weapons and you not.
that caused very much frustration and that made me quit playing crysis 1's multiplayer

mw2 and bc2 had an exp system that allows you to unlock new weapons, specs and stuff.
it was a motvation for the players and kept them playing these games.
i hope crysis 2 will feature such an exp system.
do you think crysis 2 will feature such a system?
and do u think it would improve crysis 2's multiplayer?

Some players like getting exp (look at all MMORPG games) and others don't. I don't mind if there will be such thing (and I pretty sure there will) as long as it wont take hundreds of hours to get to the top. Something like in BC2/MW2 would be good I guess, but unnecessary. I just like playing games for its gameplay (best of the best in Crysis), not for improving my account. BTW they said there will be 80 ranks, didnt they?

In the MP demo at gamescom you can see the (+100) poping up with every kill, my best guess is yes to the XP ranking, the limited edition also brings XP and some other stuff that indicate a ranking system !

80 ranks are a lot but in multiplayer demo the guys kill a few players and get to cadet III,so i think it will be fast lv up(no at all ranks).I hope there wont be a lot of kill streaks(maybe 5-7 maximum).And a one big question.Where is the guass Rifle

IMO...A good ranking system limits the number of high ranks to the players with the top score. For example General is awarded to the top 2%, Colonel 3 to 7%, Major 8 to 20%.In other words anyone can rank up to Captain by getting kills and capturing things and all that, but at that point a ceiling is reached where a player versus player score is used to award the higher ranks.

From the start players earn points for kills, captures, head shots, melee kills etc. and they lose a fraction of those points for dying, suicide, team kill etc. You get a base score plus or minus a bonus score based on your rank and the rank of the people you play against.

Ex. You have a rank of (1) and get a kill on a rank of (60). The base score is 1 for a kill, and you add 5.9 (59 rank difference/10). So you get 6.9 points for the kill on the rank (60).

You are rank (1) and get a kill on rank (1). Base score is still 1, but the difference is zero so you get 1 point for killing the rank (1)

You are rank (60) and get a kill on a rank (1). Base score is 1, but difference is -59. Here we divide by 100 and get -.59. 1-.59 gives you a score of .41 for killing the (1) when at rank (60).

A death is scored similar but you subtract 1/4 as much as you get for a kill. This way you lose points if you are a high rank getting killed by low ranks, and gain a lot of points if you are a low rank killing high ranks. The result is that once you get to a rank of about 60 (Major), you will only get enough points to climb any higher by facing higher ranked players and killing them (or by lots of capturing objectives and not dying much).



The upper ranks should not be given significantly advantageous bonuses for reaching that rank (maybe custom colored camo or guns, maybe pink shoe laces or fun stuff like that).

I know some people would be turned off by this because some people would never be able to reach the final ranks...but IMO that is life. After all how much merit do you put in a system that has hundreds of Generals running around on the battlefield....not very realistic or very interesting.

I wouldn't mind a combo of exp based rank, for new weapons, and what CygonCorrs said for some separate ranking system that is based off of skill. I'd be nice to know how good the players are before joining a server (like in Quake Live for instance) so that you can play with similarly ranked players. but I wouldn't want to have to be one of the best players in the world to get the fun weapons :P

(you could have a system similar to alien swarm, where better players can choose to "level up" but loose all the weapons they have).

All I can say is once I've unlocked everything in COD and BC2 I stopped playing them almost instantly. There was nothing else to really strive for anymore.

best they come up with something of their own,could be a mix of cod,bad company and their own idea. all in all i see it being game of there year in multiplayer and single player :).
