How do you change suit modes exactly? And what system did you play on? 360 I presume?

I actually heard some very good reviews from here:

http://www.platformnation.com/2010/09/03/pax-prime2010-crysis-2-preview/

and here:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/conferences/8070-PAX-2010-Crysis-2-Multiplayer-Hands-On

The only problem was that they compared it to mw2, but there werent that many similarities.
The best part was that they said it was still crysis. I know many people here dont agree with that, but it's enough to keep me happy :)

I wonder how odd it feels to be in a suit with almost everyone else around you wearing a t-shirt..

true that, but i understand. i tried playing it with a 360 controller once and, apart from the fact that the control scheme that is forced on you svcks major ass, the suitmode-wheel simply doesn't work with anolog sticks. with a mouse you move in a direction, a mode is chosen, let go of the button and your aim is steady. with an anolog stick you had to point in the direction you wanted to choose, let go of the button and THEN stop pointing the stick in that direction - means for a split second you move the camera. when you're invisible, aim at someone's head, go to another suit mode so you don't lose all your energy, and shoot him - standard procedure - a slight change in aim will cost your virtual life. gamepad-crysis is pointless because of that. well, only if you're planning on using cloak ;-)

Man, I an so psyched about C2 multi-player. I wouldn't worry too much about mediocre reviews, I have a feeling it's going to be rock solid by launch.

I have one other question... How well does the nanosuit work? I saw a pax video or whatever where this gamerchick went 18-6 or so without changing suit modes at all, which makes me worried about the nanosuit. Also, I saw numurous complaints from PAX about the uncloaking delay between when you cloak and when you can actually shoot. How well does that actually work?

This is what i found out The power suit abilities seem to map nicely to the characters general movements and use. For instance, holding the Jump button will initiate a “Power” jump which combined with a run will create a super long distance jump that can cover significant ground. Tapping “X” while in mid air will do a special fist pound melee move that causes significant damage to those around (I did find however that the move was difficult to time and seemed impossible to get a kill using it). The RB button initiates the cloaking device which will remain active as long as you have energy to spare. An energy meter at the bottom of the HUD controls your ability to use these features but the good news is that your energy bar recharges relatively quickly (only a few seconds of down time) so you will get plenty of use out of the suits abilities. Grenades and thermal vision were toggled using the D-pad but the real gameplay elements are centered around Cyrsis 2’s five common 1st person shooter class structures (Scout, Assault, Sniper, Demolitions, and Ghost). While I didn’t notice too many advantages with one class over another I did find the ghost class to be quite intriguing as it offered an energy plasma weapon to your layout. It appeared to me that the only advantage to different classes was weapon layout since suit abilities can be customized by the user regardless of class. You can assign different modules to each suit such as speed, cloak, armor, and strength but every class has access to the same abilities depending on your character’s level. As expected the Assault and Demolition classes focus on heavy weapons and machine guns to get the job done with Scout and Sniper serve more as support classes.

The control layout system reminded me of a combination between Halo and MW2. While it was apparent in this build that the controls could be a little more fluid, the general responsiveness was on par. There were not many times where I felt I was robbed a kill because of my inability to aim or get around a corner fast enough. Again I’m sure the final builds will be much more polished.

Woo... hey... no need to be upset, dude. I've been playing Crysis since release, played through it on Delta multiple times. Translation: I know the **** shortcuts. Still for the problem that I described in great lengths they are not a solution, feel free to prove me wrong. You could double tap backwards to go from Cloak to Armor, but

a) that WOULD change your aim

b) double "tapping" backwards isn't as quick with an anologue stick.

And Strength Mode can only be activated via 2xHit or 2xJump, neither of which are tactically fortunate when trying to land a headshot, wouldn't you agree? Maybe you're the kind of player that shoots out of Cloak and rather sprays bullets all over the place attracting an entire camp's attention than beat the game in the most skillful way - and if that playstyle appeals to you then knock yourself out. But I can complete entire levels without being shot at and I'd like to see a video of you doing that with a gamepad (using the native control scheme of course, not bypassing it with Xpadder/similar. And even that way I don't think you could do it.)
