Crysis PC Preorder: Steam or LIVE?

Post » Mon Aug 09, 2010 8:53 am

Hi,

I just have one simple question:
I wanted to pre-order Crysis online (download copy) and I want to know whether it will be released via Steam or Games for Windows LIVE? I am asking this because I have been checking Steam and have, so far, not noticed Crysis 2 on there? Will Crysis 2 be sold as a download release or only as a physical copy?

Thanks...

P.S. @Crytek Webteam: Is this forum based on phpBB? (Just interested because it looks really good ;) ).

I'm sure you could order it at http://www.sosnewyork.com or at the EA official website, not sure about the download copy

It will most likely be available on Steam closer to release date. How can this title NOT be on Steam?

it's not on Steam yet cause Steam waits until closer to the Release date, I mean, it's coming out in March right, so we got some time. I'm going to buy the phisical copy, but I'm also buying the Xbox version.

Im still waiting to see on whether or not Crysis 2 will use Steam as a DRM and VAC, or if they will keep to no DRM and PB like in the past.

If they use Steam as a DRM, im buying off steam, otherwise im getting a physical copy. Of course the game will be available for pre-order off steam as Crysis 2 gets closer to release date.

If you want to play the game faster go the retail route of pre ordering. This is because some times digital stores don't release the game till a few hours after the retail launch. It svcks and that means people will play while you're staring at a countdown clock.

It'll be on steam, but steam doesn't generally list games until about a month before release.

It definitely will not be on LIVE, the whole system is generally regarded as abysmal.

Well, I'm not that crazy about being the very fist to play it...I can wait a day or two...
I would prefer the physical copy (who wouldn't) but I am too lazy to line up on the first day and therefore want to pre-order it. However, sosnewyork isn't giving it for my country so far and I'm afraid that it will go far over my budget when the shipping/handling, tax, and environmental fees are added...
I might just end up pre-ordering from GameSpot (EB Games) or Best Buy etc...
It would be nice if Crytek @Amazon gave free shipping and handling for my country...
