Crysis 2 PS3 test?

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 10:46 pm

I got a code for the 360 test a long time ago, but I have a PS3.
Any news on a PS3 MP test?

Unfortunately, no news has been announced for a PS3 test at this point.

Although its pure speculation... but i think the Ps3 is Cryteks child of sorrow right now.

Why?

No gameplayvideos or anything moving from the Ps3 version so far.
Someone on the forum even said its running on less than 5 FpS right now, because of coding problems ( but thats only rumor i think).

That`s funny because SUPPOSEDLY the PS3 was the lead CONSOLE for Crysis 2, PC being the main system.

"lead console" ?... oh man... reminds me of that bad vs. terrible argument a few threads before ;-)

To be honest: The ps3 vs Xbox 360 battle is gigantic joke.
When it comes to multiplatform titles the 360 is "slightly" better.
This "slightly" advantage is almost invisible for me as a pc gamer.
For me all consoleversions look unsharp, blurred and pixaleted.
The only thing that is really a mentionable advantage are the exclusives for the ps3.
But even these totaly overhyped Ps3 games play like casualised gameplay massproductions.Im fed up of hack and slay..and 3rd person-shooters. Its always the same enemy bashing. But at least thats what consoles are good for...a few minutes of modest but funny entertainment.

Oh and Crytek said C2 will look slightly better than the Ps3 version... so this will be again an almost invisible advantage i think.

it doesnt mean that it will run faster xD

Crytek never said it'll look slightly better on the PS3 version, for the record.

Both console versions will be graphically identical.

Oh, and the PC is basically the lead console.

From all the high polygon models and high resolution textures, they are downscaled with Live Create to fit the processing and memory constraints of the consoles.

Additionally, because of new streaming technologies that Cryengine 3 offers, the consoles thankfully aren't constraining Crysis 2 really.

That`s funny because SUPPOSEDLY the PS3 was the lead CONSOLE for Crysis 2, PC being the main system.

Neither one is the lead console. They're both scaled down from the PC in real-time using Live Create.

Nobody started a console war, so don't trollbait.

Think we all know how this thread is going to end up...

As per the stickied FAQ up top:
Why isn’t the ‘beta’ on PC/PS3?!!!
CryEngine 3 allows us to develop Crysis 2 similarly on all three of our platforms – PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. While we’re marching ahead quickly on all three platforms, at this time we’re just testing the Xbox 360 game architecture. Will there be a full beta for Crysis 2 at a later time?
We currently do not have plans for a large-scale multiplayer beta, but as development of Crysis 2 continues we may evaluate the option at a later point. We will be certain to keep you informed on gamesas.com.
Cheers :)
