Crysis 2 runs choppy on my Macbook pro Quadcore laptop

Post » Sat Aug 07, 2010 7:15 am

Dear customer support.

I am a bit suprised here. I just bought crysis 2 for my new laptop.

Its a Macbook Pro
Bootcamp ( Windows 7 64 bit )
Quadcore i7 processor
8GB RAM
AMD RADEON HD 6750M 1GB

I thought I had the fastest laptop on the market but I experience problems with crysis 2

On highest graphic settings ( extreme, 1900 x 1200 resolution ) I have the following issues:

- choppy/slow framete on busy scenery...like in the beginning when u see the helicopter fly over....or in other busy parts.
- Stuttering sounds in Title intro movie

I tried putting settings on ( very high ) and the intro movie`s sound didnt stutter anymore, however the choppy/low framerates at certain points persisted.

I updated all driver and everything is up to date, so thats not the issue.

What could it be? My specs are even beyond the recommended settings of crysis 2.

I hope i can have some advice.

Vincent

lol gaming on a mac? Come on now. You should know better. Nothing works correctly on a max in respects to games. Good job on buying a vastly overpriced laptop that you could have saved a good $200 at least if you went for a PC plus you would be able to game.

Also that's a laptop GPU. Of course it's not gonna perform well. I'm sorry to say but laptop based GPU's are nowhere near the performance of their PC counterparts. You spent all that money for nothing basically.

try lowering your resolution, 1900 x 1200 is going to be intense even for desktop gpus. If your screen is 15.6, make it 1366 x 768. If its 17 inches, make it 1400 x 900, ...ex the default resolution for your screen size.

Agreed, laptop screens are small so u wont see big difference , and even desktop GPUs arent running the game perfectly at 1920x1200 in some levels.
