We have been told that if your rig was Crysis capable, then it would also be Crysis 2 capable, infact Crysis 2 is said to be slightly less demanding on the sytem if anything, :D

I hope Crytek doesn't screw us PC gamers, like they did with Crysis.

You might want to upgrade to a Core Two Quad. The game is bound to be more CPU intensive because of the console support, unlike Crysis which is severely GPU limited.

If a game or graphics engine were to truely improve, then it should have better graphics but also with more performance. If a new game gets better graphics but less performance, that would just be like turning up the graphics on the old game, no real improvements. Unfortunately, most of the games in the market today are beefed up versions of the one before, with better graphics but lower performance. It's hard to find games that are truely "improved".

I hope they take advantage of Quad+ Core CPUs this time around (and HyperThreading). It would just be silly and idiotic if they didn't.

imo Crysis 2 will run well if you can run Crysis/Warhead well, but I have a feeling that if you want to crank all of the settings up to 11, Cevat will come and light your pc on fire XD

ARGH no editing >:(

Anyway, I was going to say that the game is probably very scalable, meaning that it will run well (and look good) on mediocre hardware, but it will probably be very difficult to run if you want to turn all of the settings up (either through the in-game interface or via tweaking the cvars).

I hope this game runs better than the first. Personally, paying $2000+ for a rig is a waste of money... Just my opinion, please don't flame me :0
