Crysis 2: The Importance of a Demo - for all Platforms

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 7:17 am

Let them work out the issues first. Then I'll think long and hard about buying this. Still skeptical at this point.
Don't worry, Crytek is well on the way of addressing this. Just have a little patience and faith.

There needs to be a multiplayer demo for the ps3 or at least a single player demo so that we can see how the ps3 version is progressing. I owuld feel more at ease if there is a demo because up until now crysis 2 has only been shown off on a pc or sometimes xbox 360. I am scared that this game will turn into a buggy unfinished mess like Call of Duty Black ops. Hopefully it isn't but without a demo nobody will know for sure and I know that some ps3 gamers have become hesitant to purchase a product without a demo. (Just like PC gamers except they need it to test their pc specs) I really hope that someone from Crytek reads this because it needs to happen.

You guys have the Killzone 3 open beta, you will be able to play that to your hearts content and then the Crysis 2 demo later. ^-^

I have PS3 and I played open beta killzone 3 and to be honest it's the one of the worst games I played, can't wait for the Crysis 2 though:)

There should have been a demo on all platforms to start with. 2 exclusive demos for xbox is just a sellout move.

Crytek is so damn silent... one of the mods said they are unlikely to release any information about the PC demo this weekend...

I generally feel that if a company does not release a demo, it is because there is something wrong with the game. Demo's have been around for a very long time, and there is little to no reason to not release one.

I could live without a PS3 demo as I've been enjoying the 360 demo but more than anything I want to see some footage of the PS3 version, Until then I will not place a pre-order! I want the best console version.

This is exactly how I feel. So, you know how bad its going to be. i.e. Total Port.

Yeah, we ps3-players have been treated like... You know. What is holding Crytek to release some PS3-content, like screenshots, video or maybe just a demo ? Maybe somekind contract or something ? i'll cancel my Crysis 2 preorder for sure, if this situation wont change. I'll maybe wait like a week or something. Lets hope Crytek cares about fans.

Personally, I think Crytek's lips are firmly planted on Microsoft's ass.

Are you daft?

Xbox360 VRAM: 256MB of older type
PS3 VRAM: 256MB of older type
PC VRAM: UP to 8GB of latest type

Of course more than VRAM matters, but PC is superior in all areas.
Xbox360 is the weakest, PS3 is sitting on top of 360, and PC is in a tall chair far above the two. :P

Some of you are wondering why the demo was for 360 instead of PS3 or PC, well read above, the 360 is the weakest system, so it's important for them to make sure it performs ok. Why the demo wasn't released for ALL platforms I have no clue.

To you complaining PS3 players: You picked the loosing platform. Crytek is releasing it for PC, 360, and PS3, obviously they care about PS3 players. You're getting the game like the rest of us.

I would like to see a demo for PC at least to see how far the graphics go. Also I think the PS3 should get a demo because it's unique/stupid design makes it the hardest platform to design for. A demo would do a lot to make sure it works all right.
