Well, I've decided to revert to the backup. There have been far too many changes since it was created. I will never be able to track down the source of the error. Now, oblivion won't even launch. This time I will install any new mods one at a time and test playing for a while before installing the next one. I suppose I should have done that the first time. I will also be sure to do a clean save before any future merges. I don't think I did that this time and that may have been the source of the problem to start with. Sadly, I wasn't able to test this because my install became unusable. I changed the mod times in wyre bash to adjust the load order. I guess that is a bad idea. Live and learn.
