I'm posting this here because it involves 3rd party code, but it should help anyone who's having crash issues.

If you're having terrible ctd issues try the enbseries patch for TESV - http://enbdev.com/index_en.html - I think he's up to 0.091p4 now.

I was crashing so frequently that the game basically wasn't fun - I had to f5 constantly and often wasn't able to load save games or use doors without being booted out to the desktop (yes, I'd applied the sound preferences workaround as well.) Hell, I was crashing if I hit esc and let the game idle on the menu in Whiterun. The ENB .dll helped tremendously - I haven't had a single crash in hours, Skyrim is now amazing.

If this works for anyone else please post on ENB's blog and let him know you appreciate the time he put into it, this guy deserves some love.
