Also, the first Elder Scrolls Novel, http://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Infernal-City/dp/0345508017, and it's release date, November 24th, 2009.
Further, an Amazon plot synopsis that was later removed indicates TES:V will take place 200 years after the events of the Oblivion Crisis. Here is the http://74.125.113.132/search?q=cache:LTwbGwuYMjgJ:www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Infernal-City/dp/1848566867 of the page via Google archiving.
Mkay, apparently that cache archive has been overwritten. In that link's stead, here are proofs http://s56.radikal.ru/i151/0910/07/1139f395d0ce.png and http://i652.photobucket.com/albums/uu244/MrTissueBox/TheElderScrollsV200yearsafterOblivi.jpg. January 6th, 2010: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/kotaku/2010/01/06/chatting-with-fallout-and-oblivions-todd-howard, at the 9:30-10:30 mark Todd Howard said: "[...] we spend a lot of time adding to the engine, [...] and we've sort of been doing that with the big new game [we've been] making since we finished Fallout 3. You know we finished Fallout 3 over a year ago so that whole time has been spent re-doing a large part of our basic technology[...]". Essentially confirming that their next big game has been Bethesda's main focus only since Fallout 3 went gold on October 8, 2008, a little more than a year ago. Considering the fact that Bethesda's games take 3-4 years to develop, we may not hear about TESV for some time.[/QUOTE]

UPDATE: I've zipped and uploaded the Google Archive I saved. Download's http://www.mediafire.com/?zt0jtmunzjj through Mediafire (blech, but unless you guys know of a better free file-hosting service...). Unzip and open the html document to see the confirming archive of Amazon's page.

OK. After a discussion with summer we have decided to reopen this topic but under the following conditions.

This is about speculating on the next TES game and when - or if- it is going to be released, it is not a place for discussion of what is going to be in it, what type of graphics there will be or any other subject of that type, they belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1065099. If those kind of posts get raised they will be deleted and the poster warned for going off topic.
Some of you are treating this as a personal chat box with one liners and little substance. Again, that will not be acceptable.

If you have something of value to add, then great, but there is no requirement to make posts just for the sake of it. The moderators will be keeping a close eye on this thread.

So Todd's going on kotaku... let's all call and ask about TESV!

As for my last post in thread 14, Shivering Isles and Infernal City showed a return to the bar of quality for story, and Fallout 3 fixed a good amount of the problems with Oblivion's gameplay. If these are any indication, I think TESV will be great.

Or we can be more subtle about it. :P Like asking, what are more things that you were disappointed with in Fallout 3, and how would you fix them in your next game?

That's cool, I would call but I would cave under pressure and start mumbling my words and just make a fool of myself. :shakehead:

And I agree with you, those seem to suggest that TESV will be great.

Screw subtlety. I didn't get where I am by subtlety, I got there by pushing hard and loud. It's worked pretty good so far, why not keep going with it?

We should all call in either way. Maybe he'll answer just to shut us up?

Well im sure when Todd accepted doing this he knew 90% of the call ins will have to do with future games. Whether its from fallout fans or TES fans. Im guessing theres two scenarios that could play out tomarrow: A. He completely ignores all questions related to new TES games and or states he will not answer any questions on new games, or B he gives us some pretty big hints on a future TES title tomarrow. :P. I don't see Todd doing A as he knows he will hear it from all of us for ignoring our questions and ect. So maybe the reason he is coming on kotaku talk radio is to give us some major hints at the impending announcement of TES V ?? /hope

I'm pretty sure they'll be screening calls before taking them. I wouldn't be surprised if any call regarding future TES games isn't let through because Todd probably expects nearly every call to be about that.

I think we should think of good questions that aren't about future games, to show that we aren't just a bunch of TESV-hungry fans that can't think of anything else.

Well, what else is there? :P

Todd why do you sound so frail?
Todd do you live in a mansion?

Heres a few questions i'd ask him:

Todd, why did you guys destroy Vvardenfell!
Todd, what happened to the Nerevarine?
Todd, how many super mutants does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

That's a good question.

"The Infernal City talks about the Red Year, in which Vvardenfell is covered in lava and ash. What reasons did you guys have for doing this?"

Damn, I think I may actually have to call now. Ugh, I'm no good under pressure. I'll probably wind up saying a few sentences about how much I love Bethesda and never get to the question. :(

Lets not become a bounch of phone spammers.....

And besides, and really think about what I'm saying here....
The last fan question session was when Fallout 3 was in development, all about fallout 3, before that, it was oblivion. I find it very hard to believe that there isnt more to this than a simple Q/A session...THis might be a stretch, but I think there will be an announcement. Tomorrow.

I have never heard of kotaku before.

Is it a big enough tribune ?
I mean usually, stuff like that is done by giving (well, selling) the exclusive to a magazine or by an announcement in a expo like the E3.

I don't think we'll hear anything relevant to TES5. At most, he'll confirm there is nothing coming anytime soon. Or he'll say what flaws he identified in TES4 / FO3 and will fix in the next game (most likely TES5)

Here's the http://kotaku.com/5440647/fallout-3-and-oblivions-todd-howard-takes-your-calls-during-this-weeks-podcast?skyline=true&s=x to the interview announcement. If anyone isn't at work like me please call in and get answers. TES: IV came out in '06 I think we've all waited long enough.

P.S.: Go Somerset Isles, screw the snow!

On Wednesday at 11am Kotaku Time (that's 1pm ET, 10am PT), you will be able to call in and ask Todd Howard anything you want.

Hmmmm, this might be interesting.

Yes actually kotaku has quite a few followers and brings gaming news as soon as it happens.

Anyway also take a read of the article no where does it say you cannot ask about anything and also ill quote "Ask him about Fallout, Oblivion or whatever else strikes your fancy".
To me i see ask away at whatever tickles your pickle. Which i hope many people do and hopefully this time tomarrow we will all have some juicy news to talk about. I don't expect to get a full announcement from this type of event i just expect a hint or a hint of an announcement. Like we have something to announce at e3. Which is news enough for me

Crap. If I'm going to call in, I need to pronounce Vvardenfell correctly. How do you pronounce it? I've been saying it like it sounds, Vard-den-fell. Is that correct?

Vvardenfell
pronounced: Far-Farldel-wall
I kid.
So, for those of us who have school, is anyone planning on recording this?

Does anyone want to ask the question about the destruction of Vvardenfell for me? I'm too nervous/too much of a coward to do it myself, I'm afraid I'll screw up.

So, for those of us who have school, is anyone planning on recording this?

Kotaku adds a recorded version of their live podcasts after they air, so don't worry, you'll be able to hear it for yourself eventually.
