Cure Poison potion...

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 11:32 pm

I'm at Level 71 and it's only NOW that I find potions of Cure Poison in my inventory (2 of value 31).

So I'm asking you: How did you cure yourself after been poisoned by Spiders, Chaurus, etc... And that at early Levels?

I started with Redguard (immune at 50%) and have never been poisoned even after it said "You have been poisoned". I never resented it. So it was easy for my Redguard Warrior to fight spiders openly.

If there are potions of cure poison available, why is it not possible to create them? Or maybe it is..... But how?

Thanks for your replies.

You can't make cure poison potions with alchemy only resist poison.
The Silver hand actually drop cure poison potions quite often.

I've never really had much trouble being poisoned - Chaurus Reapers a little. I just wait it out and watch my HP...pop a healing pot if it gets close. :P

You sure that's not "Cure Disease"?

My 100 HP level 32 mage is the only character that has a problem with being poisoned. Especially since I don't use health pots! If I don't start casting heals real quick a spider poisoning me will take me out in a hurry.

Is poison really a danger in Skyrim? Never cared for that message.

Poison is a big problem at lower levels in Falmer dungeons.

But as already answered, you can't make Cure Poison alas- just Resist Poison.

@ Buckom: No it's really Cure Poison labeled Stops poison's continuing effects.

Thanks for the information guys/gals. I know now that there is no problem with it and Healing potions can cure it.

Love this Forum.

I use Restoration while in combat (such as I'll switch my shield to a healing spell while I fight). Poison was never a real problem for me.

I think you are right because at that Level I fought all Siverhands (almost) and got Cure Disease and ingredients for it. But I'll be careful next time to track from where I may get these rare potions and let you know.

Info about the "Cure Poison" potion, from the wiki page (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Potions):
  • Cannot normally be traded with apothecary merchants.
  • 95% chance of 1-11 bottles being sold by apothecary merchants, but only if you have unlocked the Speech perk Merchant.
  • 25% chance of being carried by Elgrim, Nura Snow-Shod, and Mjoll the Lioness.
  • 3% chance of being carried by Silver Hand members.
Edit: One other thing about Cure Poison, I believe there is an Alchemy effect for Cure Poison in the game, but it was never added as one of the four effects for the alchemy ingredients. But if you look in the list of Magic Effects that start with "Alch" with a tool like SkyEdit, it's in there. So a mod could feasibly replace a frequent effect like Restore Health or Restore Stamina on two plants and allow Cure Poison potions to be made by the player.
