Curing vampirism [Problem because of Mods]

Post » Thu May 24, 2012 11:39 pm

Somehow I managed to turn my character into a permanent Vampire without the game registering it. Which means that I have all the strengths and weakness of a vampire, but aren't registered as one, meaning I can't start the vampire Cure quest or progress it.

setstage 000eafd5 10 didn't fix the problem and getting reinfected with the disease didn't do anything either.

Now my question is, is my character salvageable by any other means or would I have to start a new one? She's only level 20, so its not that much of a loss if I got to make a new one. Still, I'd rather save her.

Which vampire mods are you running?

It could be that you are running an overhaul that does not properly cure the players race of vampirism after such action has been taken.

I was Running http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10908 and cured myself with setstage000eafd5 10 command to see if it was bugged (cause i couldn't pick any perks from the vampire tree). I then used the http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11487, after making a clean safe. And since then I'm stuck as a vampire.

edit:

I then deactivated the mod and right now I have no overhaul running.

Make a new text file where your .esps go with the following:

player.removespell 8d5c2 ; Vampiric Drainplayer.removespell 88821 ; Embrace of Shadowsplayer.removespell c4de2 ; Vampire's Seductionplayer.removespell ed0a7 ; Vampire's Servantplayer.removespell c4de1 ; Vampire's Sightplayer.removespell f5b54 ; Champion of the Nightplayer.removespell 10f1e7 ; Nightstalker's Foostepsplayer.removespell ed0a8 ; Resist Diseaseplayer.removespell ed09e ; Resist Frostplayer.removespell 10fb30 ; Resist Poisonplayer.removespell ed097 ; Night Stalker's Footsteps

and call it unvampme.txt

Now in-game open the console and type 'bat unvampme' without the quotes and see what happens.

Edit: If you aren't being attacked by vampires, wolves, and undead make a second text file called unvampfac.txt with the following:
player.addtofaction 27242 -1 ; (VampireFaction)player.addtofaction 46281 -1 ; (DA03VampireFaction)

and type 'bat unvampfac' into the console.
