PC Custom Controls Mapping Issue

I've been playing TES since Morrowind on PC, and have always enjoyed the ability to map out the controls in the came to suit my style of gaming. I was raised to use the Arrow Keys on the Key Board opposed to the more common WSAD Keys for movement. This being said, I always remap the keys to be around the Arrow Keys. An example of this is moving the "Activate" Button which is primary the E Key on the keyboard, and set it to the Enter Key. I also use the Delete, End, Page Down, Page Up, Home, and Insert Keys for other functions. In Morrowind and Oblivion, there were no problems with this, just simply set the new keys in the options and away I went.
I was however quite disappointed when I launched Skyrim for the first time and set my controls, and this is why.
Aside from the Num Pad Keys not allowing me to set binds to them, there were issues when I moved my keys.

The first problem is with the "Activate" Control, which is default set to the "E" Key. I mapped the Activate Control to my enter key, it works fine in game. The problem arises when using the inventory area. Even though I changed it from the E key to the Enter key, it still shows up as the E key in the bottom left where it tells you which keys do what. Now for some things like putting on gear and selecting items, pressing the enter key works even though it says the E key. The problem that arrises with some keys is that in the game, the new key that I set the control to works, but in the inventory menu it doesn't. For example, I set the Ready Weapon key which at Default is set to the "R" key, to the END Key on my keyboard. The END key works fine for drawing my weapon, but in the inventory the R key takes all of the items from dead monsters, is involved in giving items, and is used for other functions, but when using the END key doesn't do this, even though I changed it from the R key to the END key. I still have to use the R key in my inventory but it works fine in game. This is the same story with a lot of the other keys.

Another problem is with the NUM PAD. Whether or not you have Num Lock on, you are unable to set key binds to the NUM PAD in the controls section of the Menu. This is quite annoying as I use a lot of binds on the NUM PAD. The 1 thru 0 keys are used for binding quick draws from your favourites and you can't change the binds at all. You should be able to change them or at least not have the NUM PAD involved.

Solution:
Simple, either set it so that when you change the key, such as the R key, to anther bind, it renames it in the inventory... or having the ability to change these key binds manually in the Controls section of the Options.

The other thing about the controls is that a lot of the functions aren't even able to be changed, such as the TAB button for exiting the menus's, can't be changed.

I'm not trying to [censored] or complain, so please don't troll. This is a great game, just some odds and ends that I think could be tweaked.

Found another example, I changed the key for the Favourites menu to another key, the new key opens the menu, but won't close it, have to go back to the Q key to close it.

The PC control setup is rather pathetic, and at least one Bethesda developer admitted that it was just too much work to make it better.

Thank god we play on PC and there are mods like http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=88 that fix a lot of the interface issues. I know it took the modding community almost two whole days to figure it out, which is obviously more time than Bethesda was able to give the issue.

Thanks for the advise on the mod, I though in the back of my mind that there would be a mod to fix some of this inventory sytem, but never figured it'd be this soon.
The new inventory system is so cumbersom and annoying.

Yeah it is plain as a Bulgarian pin-up that the company just wanted to kick Skyrim out the door on all platforms on the same day and fixing the PC version so its interface wasn't a steaming pile was just not a top priority. I do not buy the argument that it would have been too much 'work' to fix the key binding problems when at-home users can provide at least a basic fix in two days.

Well, here is hoping that eventually the modding community can fill in the gaping holes of Bethesda's incompetence. In the meantime I'll just use my Nostromo in order to get around the slap-dash nincompoopery that is the default interface.
