Custom meshes for a custom race

I've created a custom race for a companion/quest mod I'm making, and I want it to use the UNP body. I've managed to get the UNP body onto the race (somewhat), by creating new TextureSets, ArmorAddons, etc., but the weight slider doesn't work. Well, it works for the head/neck, but not for the body, leaving ugly gaps unless I leave the weight at 100. I think I know where the problem is, the UNP download contained two meshes for the body, one with a _1 suffix, the other with _0. I'm only using the one with _1, as I couldn't figure out where to apply the _0 one. Can anybody tell me where to do that? Or am I missing something else?

The _0 model is the minimum weight model, and the _1 is the maximum weight. AFAIK, just put both files in the meshes folder and the sliders should work.

Alright, I suspected as much. I've currently got them in custom directory paths (meshes\Arkangel\...), and I also renamed them according to what character they belong to, and simply placing the _0 meshes next to the others didn't do anything. I'm going to try reverting to vanilla file names, but I obviously need to keep the directories, since I don't want to replace every NPCs body.
