Custom NPC House

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:53 pm

Hello, everyone!

I'm new at this, but I followed the Bethesda tutorial on how to make custom cells, and I am trying to expand some of the towns and villages by adding custom NPCs. Now I encountered a problem when I wanted to make a custom house to move Ahlam and Nazeem from the Drunken Huntsman to a custom house near Chillfurrow farm. I created the cell, linked it to the worldspace and navmeshed it. Everything is fine when I walk inside with my follower but if I put a test NPC inside, no one's there. How can I make that work?

"If you're looking for Nazeem, try the Jarl's backside. That's usually where he stuffs himself these days."

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your question but perhaps someone else will see this and have some ideas.

One thing that may help troubleshoot would be to see if your test NPC appears if you place him in a vanilla cell. That way you may be able to get an idea if the problem is with the NPC or with your custom cell.

If you are actually testing with Ahlam or Nazeem, their default packages may be moving them back to Whiterun to do their normal activity.

Check their AI packages. I'm guessing they travelled to certain locations and never came back (because they were never told to come back). Hope that helps :)

Thank you for your reply :)
I was testing with a new character, who didn't have any AI packages. I just placed his reference in the custom house

My follower goes inside normally with me. That means it's navmeshed properly, right?
