Custom Weapons Help

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 11:32 am

Hello all! I'm glad to have found these forums. I used the Wiki's guide, just cause I wanna play around with customizing weapons. I followed it, created the "Vorpal Sword" (admittedly, by duping a Daedric Greatsword, rather than a normal one). Saved the plugin, and when I clicked to play the game, went to data files, checked the box, and clicked ok.

Once I was in game, I did what the guide told me to do and typed "player.equipitem vorpalsword 1". However, it didnt work. It gave me an invalid parameter error. So, I went back and started over, but still had no success. Yes, I did hit ~ first.

Am I doin somethin wrong, here? Maybe clickin the checkbox beside the plugin and clickin "ok" isnt right?

I just wanna make a set of one-handed greatswords, for fun. Any tips or advice, or corrections, would be very well appreciated.

Regards.

I renamed it. Changed the ID and the actual name itself, to Vorpalsword and Vorpal Sword. I dunno. :/

Any other tips? The answer i got on gamefaqs was that I have to alter the object ID. I was told to type "help vorpalsword 4", but all i got was
-----VIEWER STRINGS NOT AVAILABLE------

and a list of filters.

Player.additem requires the objectID rather than the ID you give to the sword on the editor. Try to type "help vorpal" and use the object ID (the number you get next to your weapon name). It should be something like this:
player.additem 020045AD 1
