Yes. My girlfriend was amused by my take on this:

I like Animal Friend because I always felt so bad the way they clutched their own crippled noggins like a kid with a boo boo.

My son is bloodthirsty little monkey. Last night:

Me: *sneaking over a hill*
Him: Daddy, there's one! Get it!
Me: *pulls out Lucky revolver*
Him: No, Daddy, the BIG gun!

He's 5 :D

I took the animal friend perk and last night I was poking around an area that has Golden Geckos and they did not attack me. I noticed then that they are kind of cute. I like the animal friend perk so much I get it as soon as possible. I don't like killing animals.

There is a way to resolve this. Mod it so Animal Friend is a trait instead of a perk. If you want to balance it, make it have a -1 CHA effect when talking with people.

Edit: Darn it. Now this is on my list to do for possible projects. Perhaps have it where you have a trait where stacking Animal Friend Lv1 gets you the Lv2 bonus, and Lv2 gets you a special trait-only Lv3 bonus.

My son keeps telling me not to kill the Geckos because they look so cute. I even thought they were so cute as well. I even love how the "walk" or "run". So does anyone else have this problem? If you don't have kids, do you think the Geckos are cute, well, till they attack you. LOL.

:fallout:

My sons are in favor of shooting everything.........as am I. The girls don't care either way.

Between Primm and Nipton if you follow the railroad instead of the normal road, about half way there you will come across a ton of coyotes.

Aditionally there's a coyote den, not a cave you enter, but just an indent in the rockface. I walked over there and started killing all the coyotes.

While I was doing it I noticed in V.A.T.S some of them were kind of small-ish?

So I walk over to loot... And it's one big mommy one, and like five tiny little ones named Coyote Pup.

:cryvaultboy:

I know :( But as a positive change from previous games, they don't attack you unless you get too close.

And my approach killing animals again depends on the character. One of them rather takes a few hits and kills them only if absolutely necessary, however the bloodthristy companions have other ideas...

The other one skins the parents and eats the children :D

Mod them to not be aggressive :)

They are sorta cute... especially when they run with their tail in the ground and their legs sitting up in the air. (Silly animation glitches for cheap humor.)

My six year old daughter does the same thing. Climbs up into my lap, insists she just wants to watch, then starts telling me what my targets are. "No, shoot THAT one next!"

She wouldn't hurt a fly in real life, but in games, she just loves to see them go BOOM!

Thats what's so good about video games. You escape real life things and do what ever you can in a game that you will not do in real life.

Well except the time when my son 6 or 7 at the time, took $50 bill out of my wallet and hit it out side under a bush. He said he was being like Oblivion and being a pirate for his pirate stash. :obliviongate: :shocking:

Thank god, I got the moeny back. :icecream: So becarefull what they learn. :touched:

That's how a few of the species actually run in the desert. Two hind legs quickly sidestepping the heat of the sand. When they aren't running, they alternate 2 feet of the ground every few seconds.

You can get Animal Friend as a perk at level 12, I think (with a Survival skill of 45). I used to feel really bad whenever I killed a Young Bighorner or a Coyote. :(

I'm happy killing any bugs though. :flamethrower:

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to get that perk next time I level up.. though moreso because I find animals more annoying than anything in hardcoe Mode as they can take up a bit of ammo after repeated encounters and some of them (especially when you find packs of creatures) can knock the crap out of your health.

I think it's cute how they grab their head when it gets cripple.

I also think it's cute right after I shoot them again and their head explodes. :chaos:

I'm just glad the coyotes leave you alone unless you get too close... I just wish those :swear: Nightstalkers would do the same.

I don't shoot bighorns. Even when they show up red on my hud. They don't attack me for whatever reason and I think they look kind of cool. So I just sneak around them.

I agree that the geckos are kind of cute.

I want a real life stuffed animal gecko. I'll name him "Jumpy" and we'll play FNV together!

Usually Coyotes don't attack until you attack them.

Well when you mess with a cave full of pups and a Mother Coyotes, They will rip to shreds on sight. Well for me anyways

It's not so much attacking them that triggers it, it's getting too close. I've had them growl at me, if I walk the other way they stop, if I move closer that's when they decide I'm a threat.
