Daedric Armor... YUCK!

Post » Tue Oct 16, 2012 6:18 am

Am I really the only one out there that seems to utterly loathe the sight of daedric armor, I can appreciate that it is, well... kinda... funky shall we say, but IMO, it just looks garish, crude and fairly, dare I say it, Disgusting, and yet, everyone I meet says that they just LOVE the look of it, saying it is, I quote "badass", whatever that means ( I jest of course). But on a serious note (well as serious as I can be about armor on a video game) am I the only one out there who is utterly repulsed at the sight of it?

I'm repulsed at the sight of that overused dorky looking iron armor that the Dovahkiin is known for. Daedric armor really is badass, I mean the only improvement I see Bethesda making on it is the torso part. The helmet gives you the mysterious menacing feel of Oblivion. Skyrim has some of the best looking and most realistic armor in a game overall and I for one am glad to not see those fancy oversize transgender and impractical armor so often shown in Anime-like media

Couldn't agree more. I hate the look of Daedric armour, it's disgusting. The day I found a mod to remove those giant-ass pauldrons, change the colours up a bit and make it look a higher quality, I was over the moon.

I personally like Ancient nord armor and dragonbone more, but yea, I think daedric looks great on certain characters like dunmer. The armor is just too sinister and dark overlordy for the characters I make, but to me it's perfect for evil players. It looks great. Much better then previous versions. Morrowind's is my second favorite, then oblivions.

Your not alone. think its the worst armor in the game.

Look way to alien looking. Funky doesn't do it for me in a game like Skyrim.

To me it looks a cross between modern sports leathers that a biker would wear and the alien from the film Predator.

Ancient Nord, yes. Bone armour, ew. It's so bulky and concave. There is nothing majestic about it.

Ancient Nord, Steel plate, Glass weapons and shield, and Daedric armour are pretty much my favorite. Ebony armour looks rather nice as well :)

I actually prefer Skyrim's Daedric Armor which looks more like LOTR Sauron style armor than Obilivion's Daedric Armor set, which looks more like a Sci-Fi "Alien Carapace" type armor.

Still, the Daedric Style looks so "alien" compared to everything else in Skyrim that I never completely enjoyed Daedric compared to the Dragon Plate, Dragon Scale, Steel Plate, Ebony and Glass armor sets.

Thats why I like dragonbone armor. Its a true nord armor. Not pretty, but intimidating and it shows you mean business. I only wear it on special occasions though like Skuldalfin, and the CW big battles.

ever see hardened falmer armor? i think that looks like alien insect armor and the most ridiculous armor in game

daedric isn't hideous to me but doesn't suit any of my characters as i don't make any evil overlord types

Yh. My Nord (my 1st and main character) wears Dragonbone armor. Either without the helmet or with the Dragon Priest mask.

I am not too keen on the Dragonscale armor though. I was lucky as I went heavy armor as I've always played a heavy armored Nord as my main since Morrowind.

I am also lucky as I love the ancient Nord armor. Wolf armor & steel plate aren't bad either.

I actually don't mind it for a Elf build as it kinda suits them. Especially the original falmer armor in the female version. The original Falmer armor is like the Elven equivalent of the Forsworn armor. As it is a chitin armor, I was planning on making my female Dunmer wear it until I realized it wasn't a light armor

Falmer (better on an elf though)

Personally I like the Daedric, altho I've got mods that give it a slightly different look and I don't know that I'd wear the vanilla helmet again, but I don't really like any of full-face helms.

Also modded both sets of dragon armor to get rid of the horrible (IMO) color and to make them look a bit different on my characters. Even without modding, though, I might consider wearing it just for the final battles of the MQ.... nothing says "screw you" to Alduin like wearing armor you made out of his dead friends. :P

While i dont really like the look of daedric armour, i think it looks appropriate for what it is. Its made using the soul of a daedra, i would expect it to look pretty demonic.

The armour that really disappoints me is ebony, dont look nearly as cool as the ebony i oblivion.

The heavy armor reminds me of power armor. Everything from the neck down looks like it. Let's take those dangly things around the skirt. They look like hoses that are connected to the legs.
