Daggers and Armsman

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 9:55 am

Does the perk work with daggers. I have seen a ton of threads on it but they always seem to get different answers.... Some say hur dur it has to work its a one handed weapon and others say there is no way it would work because the damage output stacked with sneak would be to high. But i have yet to find anyone that has tried it to see if it works (and no im not going to test it either.. not with no way t reset the wasted perk if it doesnt work  )

so anyway whats the verdict on armsman.

I've read that it does.

There is one way for you to test this.

Take note of the damage on your dagger.
When you level up, take another armsman perk.
Check the damage on your dagger again. If it increases, then the perk increases dagger damage.

I believe it works (yes, just believe, haven't checked :P)

If you're very curious you can save at level up then do an experiment and revert back! :D

Not a definitive answer BUT:

Source: Prima offical game guide

The guide lists several archetypes and suggests how to build them. One of the archetypes is named "the Assassin". It lists essential perks and armsman is one of those stated as a must have for the character, who is not only pictured wielding daggers, but states specifically to use them daggers after getting the assassin's blade perk. also, here's a quote. "as an assassin you need fast, powerful, offense to cut down your foes before they can retaliate. take perks in one handed and snead to increase your damage output as much as possible"

so to me that means yes, it does effect daggers.

Yes, it does effect daggers. In fact, 5 ranks in Armsman and with the Assassin's Blade Perk, sneak attacks with daggers are pure death.

does the damage actually display? i assumed that the damage from perks and stuff was applied to the target but no displayed on the weapon
