What's the point of having daggers if they aren't affected by the one-handed skill ? Now i'm lvl 50 and my swords do 5 more time damage than my two pathetic daggers, and i wonder what can i kill at this level with a weapon dealing no more than 55 dmg

At first i was thinking that daggers were focused on stealthy vicious strikes, but now even my swords perform better backstab. So i'm using them as fork and knife when it's time to cook some raw food.
I'm sick of playing masterchef, let me kill some more with this weapons !

Dude, as others have said, they are impacted. MY guess is that Bethesda wanted to allow you to build your character with whatever loadout you wanted, so no weapon class would be penalized, the quicker weapons have lower damage, but probably comparable DPS. If you swing a warhammer, all other things equal, it does about twice the damage or so as a dagger/sword, but swings at half the rate. anything else comes in from how you build perks, but as several other posters have already said, they are included in one-handed
lay off the skooma, buddy
