I just read that review.
It gave me chills... and I've played through the game over 30 times.

But this has been changed in a patch:
"Curse effect stacks – so if you get caught again, you'll be down to a quarter of a health bar. A third time, you'll be down to an eighth."
It doesn't stack anymore. Now it stays at 50%

Wasn't like curse prevention wasn't all that difficult. I laugh at those who fall in The Depths into the basilisk lair and get cursed, while I enjoy the sites, sounds, smells, and the statues.The key is to just run right at them, and not be defensive!

I have never purchased a game based on a review until now. This game seems like it will be a Ghosts n' Goblins on steroids. No, make that Bane's venom formula. I hate Ghosts n' Goblins. I hate this entire genre of gaming where I can't take my time and be casual. But that review makes me really want to experience something awful. It makes me want to experience the harshest of gaming conditions so that I come out a hardened gaming warrior.

You have no idea how much of a relief it is to read this! Any form of mercy in this game is welcomed.
