I've just started playing about with mods and I've noticed that my update.esm file is not showing up as a Data file option in the skyrim Launcher

Does this mean that the 1.1 patch is not loading?

I can see it in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data folder, and it's found by my Nexus Mod Manager, but as you can see, clicking the Data link from the Skyrim Launcher, it's not showing as an option and it looks like it's not loading.

If this is the case, it may account for why my mouse is acting up!

Am I going to have to re-install steam and Skyrim to another folder? Steam didn't ask me where it was to install itself OR skyrim, it just defaulted to the Program Files (x86) folder, which I know can be problematic as you need admin rights to change the contents......

OK, I've uninstalled everything - Steam, Skyrim and mods. Downloaded the standalone Steam installer and installed it to a new folder outside my Program Files (86) folder - It's in C;Games/Steam now.

Then I used Steam to DL and install Skyrim (thank God for a fast connection), reinstalled the Nexus Mod manager and installed some mods.

However, I am still a bit unsure about whether the update is working or not.

Here's why.
In this first image you can see that the Nexus Mod Manager is showing the Update.esm

But in the data files I can look at via the Skyrim launcher, it is not showing as an option.

I can ask the NMM to load the update.esm, but it doesn't seem to load, however the blodd spatter mod does.

Is my Update actually working or not?

The Update.esm I've heard is only used when an official patch is released. You don't want to touch it.

Only .esm files show under data which next to mods use yet until the ck comes out.

I thought the Update.esm file was the 1.1 patch file.

So there must be another reason my mouse goes to hell in a handbag when I open my inventory ....
