Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #18

Mod it for PC?

You mean create a Dawnguard mod with 20 hours of studio-quality voiced content, quests and locations?
Mmh cool leaks. 20 hours?! sweet!

? 2012 Bethesda Softworks LLC, a Microsoft Media company.
Why do people get so angry about this. Xbox players pay £40 a year so this is MS way of paying them back.

Anyway, I really hope it has something( anything) to do with werewolves and vamps. I'm having sooOOOoo much fun terrorizing the wilderness as a werewolf, hopefully a lycanthropy tree
Yeah, kids in the lore section keep saying werewolves and vampires aren't needed in the Elder Scrolls because they are under-developed. Hopefully they are proven wrong. If we had a vampire or werewolf main quest, I would be glad to see them shut up about it. Haha!

Well if its going to be Dawngaurd then I think we know what it will entail. Considering that the name itself was correct in that info leak a month or so back about the DLC. So I'm gonna bet on the Hammerfell and dragon mounts. If not I don't care, as long as they release more info about it soon and release date for PS3!!!!

The DLC is for XBox only. :(

Same here. Hopefully someone will mod it for PC. PS3 players got the short end on this one. :(

Recently bought Skyrim for my laptop so I could use mods, trying to extend the life of the game waiting for this DLC. I don't blame Bethesda/Zenimax for the timed exclusive, Microsoft probably drove a dumptruck full of money upto their offices and they are running a business after all. MS on the otherhand just throw money at everything and on principle I will never buy an XBOX

Just going by Point Lookout, which was referenced as a benchmark.

If you explored all the locations it could provide as much; however if you just did the main Point Lookout quest and left the area it was much shorter.

Enough with this hate against the 360 timed exclusivity. As gamers, all of you are perfectly familiar with the concept of paying extra to get a special deal. How many Special Editions and Collector's Editions have you bought in your life?

Want something special? Pay extra for it. That's what we do as consumers, that's what Microsoft did as a platform. It's no more favoritism than someone getting a collector's edition was.

Sigh, again:

its been known since E3 of last year that the 360 will get it first, then 30 days later the PC/PS3 will get it.

The DLC should logically be accessible to players who have not touched the main quest, or triggered dragons into the world. Thus, I highly doubt it'll have anything to do with the dovahkiin.

No! No more dragon crap. I'm sick of these overhyped, boring and cliche dragons. They are in the main quest for goodness sakes!
This all the way!
I like dragons. as do most people here. If you don't like it don't buy it.
The same can be said to people who complain about a DLC based around werewolves or vampires, except the difference is the main quest isn't based around them so it makes sense. Doing a DLC based around dragons is serious overkill.

Assuming that Dawnguard has 20 hours of studio-quality voiced content, quests, and locations of course.

It svcks that all they give us is a name and poster that tells us nothing, but at least we know its happening and when to look for more info.

When Skyrim was announced, all we got was a logo and a small movie of a old guy talking when the camera would pan Alduin's Wall, but it didn't svck.

Too bad, you missed out. You not buying it won't change anything.

But I'm sure PC players will still be able to play it, even if they don't buy it.

Bethesda is creating an issue for themselves.

Of course it wont, Bethesda is a business out to make money. That doesnt mean Im going to just bend over.

It's only like 30 days in the difference! Look at it this way, I will be bug testing for you before you even get the DLC. It's like watching my kids fight cause one got their cookie first

Anyway, I really hope it has something( anything) to do with werewolves and vamps. I'm having sooOOOoo much fun terrorizing the wilderness as a werewolf, hopefully a lycanthropy tree

So what, being a smart consumer and not supporting shady business practices is being a child?
