Hello!
I've been away from this turmoil for two days, so what are the new theories found around Dawnguard?
I also have thought to it, and here are my hopes and speculations.
I hope that the DLC will do justice to the Volkihars and let us see them passwalling through the ice of frozen lakes.
In fact, I disliked the flying vampire we saw in the Game Jam. Or rather, I'd hate it if it happens in Eastern Skyrim, for I would find it lore-unfriendly. If Bethesda gives us such a creature, then, please, give it to us in a new landmass, as a new strain of porphyric hemophilia, so that it stays lore-friendly. Maybe flying vampires originate from Roscrea or Olenveld?
I also hope that there'll be wild werewolves and werebears (maybe the Dovahkiin has increased facial hair because he is about to transform into a werebear), but I hope we won't be forced to get some illness or curse to enjoy the new features of the DLC, and that it won't only focus on werecreatures and/or vampires (this is actually one of my fears given the Dovahkiin's glowing eyes).
If werecreatures are of significant importance, I hope that we'll be able to join the Silver hand, and that silvren and mithril weapons will be included again. Besides, I wonder whether the Silver Hand is linked with the Lunar Forge. Since the Companions have their Sky Forge, it would be nicely symmetric that their antagonists have their own forge too. Maybe there could be a Solar Forge, a Dawn Forge and a Dusk Forge too?
Finally, let's speculate a little about the content.
I think I've read some people mentioning Tamriel's meaning : Beauty of Dawn. We have also mentioned the desire of the Thalmor to get back to the Dawn Era, Meridia's Dawnbreaker, and the links between Dawnstar and the Falmers. I don't think Dawnfang could be linked to this DLC, as it's a name arbitrarily chosen by an Orc. However, that Dawn affects this weapon is undeniable.
I am astonished, though, not to have heard more about Azura and Moonshadow. Azura is the Prince of Dusk and Dawn. Would it be possible that the accounted blinding of the visitor of Moonshadow would actually come from a wrong interpretation of a noticeable change in their eyes? Hmm hmm...
One last, very vague hypothesis. There is light in Dovahkiin's eyes. Light is tied to Ayleids' magic. And it's one of my idiosyncratic beliefs that Falmers and Ayleids have interacted. I believe that Ayleids havebought slaves from the Falmers, Men-of-'kreath actually. So, is it possible that this (far-fetched) link could be explored in Dawnguard?
So, what do you think about it? And why do you think our favourite Dovahkiin looks so tired?
