Dawnguard Anger.

I gotta say this expansion is really cool but its been ticking me off since neither side is good or bad. I like playing as the good guy but this dlc I just can't tell.

Spoiler
Imo if they wanted to tell a great story, She should of died saving your life or that you kill her instead of spoiler, Would of left a bigger impact since after MQ she has new nothing new to say and a very limited purpose.

Going by this every single companion in the game should just be deleted as they serve a very limited purpose and never have anything new to say.

It seems pretty black and white to me.

I think there is some shades of gray in there which is good the while black versus white good versus evil is common place and very cliche and I prefer a story where people do what they think is right. We all have our own interpretation of good and evil but I just want some more stories that focus on personal gain or politics not black versus white.

Moral ambiguity makes you angry?

When does Moral ambiguity become cut and paste though?

I don't know what you're talking about with that comment. Are the two factions like the Civil War, so playing the other side is pretty much second verse, same as the first?

Looking at his comment, he just says he's angry that he can't tell who is bad and who is good. I don't see why that's a bad thing. It means things aren't simple and the characters have more dimension. That sounds like a good thing to me.

I don't think there is any moral ambiguity between the different factions, its just the same characters with a different hat.

If its the same as the civil war I think I might vomit that quest was a joke a copy lasted design that tried to imitate the Great Houses but failed by utter lack of quality.

It's pretty much exactly the same, with more running from one end of the map to the other. The story is better though, in that there IS a story.

Ugh that's stupid but at least there is actually a story so far I am two missions in and its very interesting I just don't want to do the exact same thing on both sides the only difference being different faces. If this is the case Bethesda should really look again at the Great Houses all three of those had unique stories.

Best be getting your walking boots on, I'm serious when I say they send you from one end of the map to the other about 15 times. Literally one corner to the other.

If you want to discuss the details of Dawnguard quests, NPCs, locations, etc., either use spoiler tags or take it to the http://www.gamesas.com/forum/196-dawnguard-cheats-hints-and-spoilers/

What?
How was that a spoiler?

I gave away nothing to do with the quest, every quest in Skyrim sends you across the bloody map!

\/\/\/\/
I didn't give away any locations, NPC names or locations. I didn't give away any plot lines. Shivering isle had its own map. But go ahead and delete posts that point out the ridiculous reasons you've edited this thread.

Spoiler

Of course this is a spoiler, as you are discussing details of Dawnguard quests and locations. People who haven't played it may have no idea that you get quests in Dawnguard that send you back into other parts of Skyrim, or whether Dawnguard is a closed off new area like Point Lookout, Dead Money or Shivering Isles, etc.

EDIT: If you would like to discuss further, send me a PM rather than derail this thread

I thought its obvious the vamps like harkon and the crew were the "bad" guys. They eat people alive and want to destroy the sun, the dawnguard want to stop them....pretty black and white there.

The dawnguard aren't evil because they're not out to kill every vamp, hence why the vamp princess is allowed to stay at fort dawnguard

The only reason whe is allowed is because she is the only lead they have. Not all vamps eat people. The count of skingrad for example is a great person and leader. Also vamps only need to drink blood and they are good to go. Don't gotta drink a person to death just a little of the top. To me that's not evil just trying to live. Each side has clear evil characters and obvious good ones. That's where my dilemma is neither side feels like the good guys. Even some of the side quests I question.

Well I guess I better then I hope that each wide is more unique and fresh than the civil war quest line.

clear cut, black and white, good and evil don't truly exist anywhere except in very idealistic imaginations. even bad guys think they're doing the right thing.

I actually hope it is like that... would give me some realism. I don't like there being an obvious good guy or obvious bad guy. That's what I liked about the War in Skyrim.. the content of the quests were in my opinion atrocious, but I liked the idea of either side not being completely good, nor completely bad. Having players make a legitimate choice of who they morally agree with more.

i never said all vamps are bad but harkon and his followers are.

oh and serana still lives at fort dawnguard after the quest is complete and she's no longer needed...she's not evil and neither is isran and the dawnguard, they're trying to save the world from the evil vamps like harkon.

like i said its pretty black and white
