Dawnguard Dogs

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 9:14 pm

About those Huskys: my children show me no dialogue option if I come home with a Dawnguard Husky.
They have already adopted Meeko, but shouldn't they be able to adopt a second dog?
I checked on UESP and it said that Huskys can be taken by the children as pets.

Well they never went and adopted Meeko without you bringing him home, you can I think only bring one dog home for them, the other pet one of the children will bring home and it will not be a dog.

I brought Meeko to them and one of the cildren adopted him right away.
If they did not want a second dog, they should come up with a mudcrab or something, but in dozens of hours happened nothing.
I am pretty sure both children can adopt a pet, so two pets.

I would prefer Meeko and a Husky tough. :/

Maybe they think dogs are so awesome, their Papa should have one too. It warms the heart, when you think about it.

It sure did, until I get annoyed.
Last time I played my boy ran to me and asked me if I had something for him...
I wanted to throw that Husky in his face like:
"YEAH THAT DOG I AM TRYING TO PRESENT YOU THE LAST TWO WEEKS! LIKE DAYLY!"

Well if you want to try for another dog, there is a random event where a stray dog will appear down on the road near Pinewatch, but he looks exactly the same as Meeko. One of the children could adopt him if he turns up. Lakeview Manor might have a higher probability of getting a dog without you bringing one home. But if you wanted a Dawnguard dog you should have brought him home first, I am pretty sure you can only have one four footed follower adopted.

Thank you for the reply.
I have another character to go, I will try it with him.
Now I am waiting for my children to bring home some wild animal. :D

One of my characters had trouble getting Meeko adopted and had to leave Meeko with the children while he went adventuring, when he returned one of the children asked to adopt Meeko. Another character brought Bran home and he got an immediate response, they just thought he was so cute, they had to have him as a pet. Deathhounds on the other hand can get rid of unwanted children fishing for gifts or money real quick, scary dogs they do not like.

Yes, you can have two pets, even if you have only one child. But none of us have managed to get two dogs yet, which is what the OP was complaining about.

Children can find their own pets without help. But have you ever known one to find a dog after you had already brought one home?

My girls have adopted Bran but not Sceolang. I'm starting to think maybe you can't adopt both Dawnguard huskies. Probably one plus another pet.

I tested getting 2 dogs extensively when HF first launched with no success. So have others. I would like to see if any PC users can actually dig into the game files and confirm if 2 dogs is possible or not.
