Dawnguard only appearing in add-ons when connected to Xbox l

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 9:20 am

I don't have a permanent Internet connection to my Xbox, so I downloaded DG by putting my Hard Drive on my roommates Xbox. When I put the HD back on my system, the add-on had disappeared. I brought it back to my roommates console, and whamo, it magically appears. In the load screen, when disconnected from the console DG does not appear in the 'add-ons' section, when I plug back in, it appears again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, yes, also, when I attempt to load the game that I started the DG quest when disconnected, a message appears say something like ' there will be missing parts to your game if loaded, continue?'

Thanks

The DLC is linked to the console on which it was downloaded.

So at the moment though you used your Gamertag it is linked to your room mate's console.

You need to transfer the rights of your content to your actual console.

Here is a link to Microsoft's official XBox Forums and the instructions for transferring your license to your own console.

This will allow you to enjoy Dawnguard even when you are offline:

Hope that helps.

Thank you! I figured it was an issue like that but I had no idea how to fix it, thanks again!

Just to add to what the poster above me said, it is still your content and can be used on your gamertag on any console anywhere when signed in to xbox live (or the console you first downloaded it to when offline or on another gamertag). It's done this way to prevent copying of content, basically.

Follow the link posted above and the instructions there to be able to play offline on your console as well as your friend's console whenever you go over there.

Yeah I did this for Oblivion DLC back when I had bad internet. You're going to have to do the License Transfer thing. Go to Xbox.com and look for it. They tell you how to do it there. Otherwise if you don't, you'll have to connect to the internet whenever you load up Skyrim so it can load up the DLC. Kind of a pain.

EDIT: It looks like someone was gracious enough to post you a link. If I remember correctly ti shouldn't be to hard to transfer the license.

True I have something to add as well, I have had to do a license transfer three times the first time I did the transfer not all of my licenses transferred if they don't all transfer call Microsoft and they will do a work around and probably have you transfer your licenses they was very helpful with me.
