Dawnguard Patch is out

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 11:52 am

1. Does this patch fix anything other than the language-based issues like invisible enemies/armors?
2. Does this contain any regular bug fixes?
3. Are people in the US receiving this patch too or only the FIGS players?
4. Any release notes for this patch?

This patch is, as far as I know, only intended for the German, French, Italian and Spanish versions of Dawnguard and will fix the problems that occurred in these versions (invisible enemies, invisible armor, etc.). The US- and UK-versions of Dawnguard are not suffering from those bugs, therefore don't need to be patched.

Roger. So not a general bugs-in-Dawnguard patch. Okay, thanks.

That's because you don't need one.

Well I was reading about all the assorted other problems Dawnguard has, so I was wondering if they included a sort of general fix at the same time as this fix for you guys with the language issues.

I'm on pc and don't have anything Dawnguard.

Now here's a question and its very important.... is anyone without Dawnguard installed getting the patch notification. Historically Bethesda has been unable to patch DLC they have previously said its not possible. If this has changed it is very good news indeed. But as this patch seems to fix spesific regional issues for the German, French, Italian and Spanish versions, and may simply be patching from the base game end which means the real bugs of dawnguard may remain unresolved.

Well guys, I got a British XboxLive account ^^ and live in Luxemburg. Still I get only the German DLC to download. Guess it has to do with some regional stuff ^^. It saddens me quite a lot to see that we are literally being [censored] up by Beth. XD
Microsoft does the region locking go whine at them.

It rather appears that it's just the language/region thing, which is good. But not as good as getting the rest of the FUBAR'd stuff fixed.

Your missing the point, if EVERY skyrim player in that region playing that regions version of the game is getting the patch it means DLC still can't be patched and the issues are being handled from the base game end. However if only the Dawnguard players are recieving the patch it means Bethesda DLC can now be patched.

I'm in the US and yes we do. We may not be seeing the same bugs that the EU market are, but I still have a hole in my Breezehome alchemy addition.

I haven't got Dawnguard yet because of all the trouble it made in the German version.
But my game was also patched a few minutes ago, so they patched the main game.

Thanks to the patch, I can see now the armor of all NPC's - but I can't see the shield in my offhand anymore...

The much-needed patch our European friends are currently receiving is for the thread pinned at the top of this board:
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1394715-npcs-not-displaying-clothingarmor-french-german-spanish-italian-release/

Bugs/glitches affecting all areas are being collected in this thread:
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1396549-dawnguard-bug-list-2/

Let's please leave this thread for our European brethren.
We'll all need fixes for other issues but those across the pond really needed this one. I'm glad to see it's available for them.

Not for all pal, not for all...
I hope we get today at least some info if the version problem between german dawnguard and uk skyrim is at least worked on. Iam going to lend another Copy of skyrim from a friend to use that one for dawnguard, but that isnt a permanent solution, and ofcourse not everyone has this opportunity :/
Lets hope the best :/

Nope - it DIDNT! I was freaking happy to see the download box to pop open. Dawnguard NPC's just like the vampires are fully visible (even the vampire lord if he transforms and stuff).
Doing things wrong once is quite okay so the first misstakes were fine. But in addition the Mothpriest not only starts attacking me, Ingvar starts Attacking Serena - being stuck in battle forever (for what I saw now).
In addition to that 'known' bug that isn't fixed, theres one more quest in dawngoard that you can accept at that point of the storyline (have to look the name up >.<) where you have to find someone. Done that - this pretty armored [Censored] keeps telling me the same thing without moving. I'm trying to get a screenshot off that asap..... Allover we were all happy to get the DLC, but something like that is quite unacceptable - becouse unplayable...

Somehow funny how such a great game with a even better DLC turns out into a happiness killer...

Alright, i mean: you don't need this one, which is only meant to fix the "nvde NPC" and other problems making the FIGS version unplayable.
