Dawnguard PS3 update

Post » Fri Aug 03, 2012 5:52 pm

''We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren’t going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people’s experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We’re as disappointed as our fans when that isn’t the case, but we’ll continue to push for that reality.''

Cue people saying "this means it'll never come out for PS3" in 3...2...1...

It'll come out but based on my experience with Fallout 3 DLC Dawnguard will make Skyrim unstable...

Well, the positive side is that they have paid attention to the consumer response to Skyrim on the PS3, as well as the fact that they are testing the product and its feast-ability to work on the PS3 models (remember that there are a few different kinds of PS3) and that they are further doing their best to try and ensure that it works so they can release it given our previous experiences.

I don't mind waiting.

Hopefully they are just optimizing it and then it will release. Its kinda a vague statement.

What makes me wonder is though, if they allowed the PS3 version of Skyrim to be released (yes I know it would have been too cost ineffective to delay it) how bad must the performance of Dawnguard be to not release it?

Well, I Thank you for apologizing!

But seriously, you should have done this before 11.11.11 and released Skyrim 4-5 months later when it became playable.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving PS3 users some information about the state of Dawnguard.(That wasn't so hard was it?) But personally I don't care for it. That train is long gone. You're not fooling me twice! Give the people that will buy Dawnguard the game they deserve!

One thing that bothers me though: Why the need to point out that updates are free? Do you think we should be grateful for receiving "free" updates that are for fixing the game you released broken in the first place? Maybe you would like to charge us money for the fixes, and charge us money for the fixes that fixes the things that the fixes broke.

I believe that the game as a whole should have been in development for a year or longer. That way the game would be more finished on the ps3 version and every version. Not saying that there wouldn't be bugs but probably a lot less.

Quote from that story:

Baloney. If this is a true statement was it just not how Bethesda did things during Oblivion? I of course won't get an answer but then I stopped expecting to.
