Still no. Just like I said in #1. I'll get it for magic beans in one of the STEAM sales, where I buy all my console games from sellout companies that used to make great PC games.

My take on Dawnguard after two days...

The whole DLC is a totally seperate part of Skyrim's story line. I mean, it just doesn't fit. It would be like putting a DLC with Skyrim characters into Oblivion. (Maybe I should get Shivering Isles, eh?)

Once outside of Dawnguard's story line,Serana is just another NPC, albeit a difficult NPC to mod or mod around. She reminds me of Karliah or Astrid in this respect.

Was it worth whatever I paid? Dunno. Right now it doesn't feel like something that fits into Skyrim as a whole, as an integrated add-on. It just feels like an add-on. A very well crafted add-on, crafted maybe even better than Skyrim itself, with characters that, within the 'walls' of Dawnguard's story-line, are much more in depth than most of the characters of Skyrim itself. I just wish it had been a bit more integrated.

Maybe after some more time with it I'll change my mind. Maybe some bits and pieces that I haven't had time to explore yet will make this DLC a must-have. Maybe.

Maybe $10.

How is Dawnguard worth only $10 when KotN was $10 5 years ago? Dawnguard has much more new content than KotN had, just look at these links and compare...

Nobody said that KotN had more content than Dawnguard the OP just wants to know if you believe if its worth 20 dollars, its not hard to answer "Yes" or "No"

He/she might not have been responding to you (which is probably why he/she didn't quote your comment).

Dawnguard most definitely has more content than KotN, but I still consider it the smaller DLC (like KotN was) for Skyrim while Bethesda is preparing us with the bigger DLC (like Shivering Isles). Although, Dawnguard being $20, the next DLC for Skyrim may be smaller, or be bigger but cost even more. If it is bigger, we might be lucky if it cost the same price as Dawnguard.

Yes, I consider Dawnguard to be worth the price! The repeating quests for hunting down vampires NEVER gets old. Amen!

Compare Dawnguard to any of FONV DLC or Shivering Isles…

$10 sounds generous.

There are two new areas that I loved, but they are so incredibly underutilized, someone took the time to make two areas that look awesome but decided to stick most of the DG content into generic been there done that caves.

I wouldn't have bought it had I known what it contained. I did the quests but that's it. Never use vampire lord or the armor....just nothing to prolong the game beyond the quests it offers which isn't that much. Not even new land to explore, just a couple of castles which don't offer anything after the first visit.

Serena is good as a follower because she doesn't die but I could use Mjoll for that. New spells are beyond pointless, crossbows don't add anything beyond a roleplay value, buying an armored troll that dies in two hits...pointless.

Waste of 20 bucks IMO.

I agree that it doesn't feel that integrated, especially after playing NV, which I thought had some brilliant add-ons (even with their faults). But I am enjoying it right now, and don't regret paying full price for it. Doesn't mean I think it's perfect, but I do think it was worth the cash.

You're saying New Vages had better integrated DLC? Really? You couldn't take your companions with you into them and some you couldn't even revisit after completing. I thought they had good story but the almost felt like standalone games.

Back on topic:

The answer is Yes.

Oh yeah, because the Soul Cairn and the Forgotten Vale were in the vanilla game weren't they? Just because they didn't add in a single SI sized chunk of land doesn't mean the two places mentioned dont exist.

This is where my complaint about Dawnguard comes from. In my opinion bethesda could've done more with
Spoiler
the soul cairn
I mean they have some nice lore about that place (especially a certain building and certain someones).
Spoiler
the forgotten vale
Is very beautiful but other than the main quest, there's nothing to really do there. With those two land masses I think bethesda could've done more with those. They look great though.

Hard to say.

I agree with you who don't think DG really fits into the rest of Skyrim, so much so for me that I de-selected it from my mod list after completing and loaded up an old save to keep playing "old" Skyrim on.
Not that I have any regrets in purchasing it, it had great (if uneven) content, but it felt like a Skyrim spin-off deal way too much, not the same game in other words.

And IMO their future DLCs should be Point Lookout/The Pitt type deals where you visit other provinces or w/e, The Skyrim area of this game simply doesn't lend well to being altered like this.
